We all know how "quiet" the Huayra sounds, and all the comparisons to the Zonda's sound.

My opinion: It's actually quite an awesome sound in it's own way! :D Nothing like the wild ferocious howl of the Zonda, but a subtle deep exhaust note. That in combination with the twin turbos reminds me of an aircraft. That fart upon gearshifts is sort of fitting for the car's name (Huayra-tata = Father of wind :dopey:)

I used to dislike the engine sound, but it's grown on me now. I like love it actually 👍

For reference:

Your thoughts?

Sounds awesome to me. Love that kind of sound, slightly similar to the McMerc SLR. Like half SLR and half CCX.

I don't like it at all. I frequently go onto YouTube just to listen to the shreak of a Zonda, the sound is like nothing else. It gives me goosebumps. The Huarya is just an unispiring sound compared to the Zonda.

That farting sound when it upshifts.. I hate it in this, MP4-12C and F10 M5. Why, oh why did they have to make it to do that.. Blowing raspberries on each upshift is hardly inspiring. :yuck:

Just watched the Harry Metcalfe clip on the Huarya and I think the sound is AMAZING! I have a whole new respect for Pagani the company and Horacio himself. These cars are an event, true supercars for a new Millenium. Fantastic!

The problem is the same as with the Veyron.
Big cube, low compression, muted by turbochargers.
It sounds agricultural and dull to be honest.
Not even a hint of the V12 howl.
Leaves me cold.

Needs a better clip with interior noise. Go to 2:50 in this video.

Turbo's ruin everything that matters to me, namely sound, throttle response, and power delivery.

I don't mind the sound of the new car, but it simply doesn't compare to this:

Something about the fuel cut off-throttle. If I had to guess, it works like an engine brake on a diesel truck. The transmission shifts so quickly that the engine can't slow down to meet it, so they use some sort of jake brake system to pull the engine down more quickly.

So what kind of engine does this Pagani Throat Clear have again? And why are the turbos so terribly loud in the interior? That's a characteristic of a big-power Supra tuner or a drift car, not a hundreds-thousand dollar luxury supercar. Childish, that is.

I think it's a bit meh. There's something slightly unsatisfying that I can't put my finger on

It's neither an XJ220 nor an F40.

Its a nice sound but no supercar on this planet will ever screach the old Pagani Zonda did. That noises that car makes!!.....its not for children lol.

exactly!!

I know its my headphones but the Huayra has a deeper sound that I couldn't pick up with my regular speakers. The interior sound is rather annoying though. I think you really have to hear the car in person to enjoy it. That being said I like the exterior but not the interior.

Bring back the Zonda Cinque- thats my favorite Zonda of them all. If only it wasnt a limited production run. How will i ever get to own one!

I really don't like the sound of the Huayra. It's too quiet, and the vague sound you can hear every once in a while is just atrocious in my opinion. I'm disappointed with it.
