One thing why GT is so fun is because of bumper view. Cockpit view is great as well, but the sense of speed is just not fun, maybe when I grow older it will be lol. I could care less about standart car views.
Agreed 👍you need to add a fourth choice "I don't have a problem with standards"
Hopefully you will never get your wish as I would much rather use a hood view if it were there. The cockpit view is cool but it is not any more realistic than a hood view other than the wipers and weather on the windscreen obstructing vision. The problem is that it feels like you are in the back seat and that is not real feeling at all plus your view of the road is more obstructed than it would be in the real car.I really wish GT6 didn't even have the other views during gameplay.
I'm sure it's been mentioned but there is an on-the-fly option to shift your view forward until it's all pretty much windscreen - though with that view, you'll have only half of a rear-view mirror and no wing mirrors....The cockpit view is cool but it is not any more realistic than a hood view other than the wipers and weather on the windscreen obstructing vision. I guess I am just being optimistic. I am sure they will be added later as a patch like they did with GT5. I just don't know why he doesn't wait and fix the game 100% THEN launch it. I hate the mentality that developers have now of "Release now, patch later".
I didn't vote as I don't see an option that I agree with. I would vote no, bonnet view wouldn't fix standards, as my only problem with them is they look so ugly, with drawn on jagged door lines which have reflections, among other visual things. I don't use cockpit view in GT5 as I can't adjust the FOV or get rid of the steering wheel.
I've just been posting on another thread here. Someone has just raised the point that by using the multi screen setup, you can make better adjustments to the FOV even if you are using single screen. It still won't address the issue of the steering wheel though.
The thread I am referring to is the epic whining and crying thread.
There's actually a brand new thread for this since it was OT in the whining thread, here it is https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/showthread.php?t=284242Oh really, that's great I'll have a look.👍

What annoys me most about GT games is the lack of consistency even with standards. Some cars have a pretty good "hood" view but most have the stupid roof cam. I'm definitely with the crowd that feel that there's no way to get comfortable using cockpit cam even if you tweak the zoom and angle of view to make it "windscreen" view ... the depth of field and POV are never really right for sensing perspective and yaw. But I digress. What kills me is how many cars, Standards in particular, that have a perfectly good hood view that is hidden in the replay cams when you "reverse" the rear view cam. In other words, set the cam looking back at your rear wing, then hold down the right paddle and voila, you are looking at a hood cam that you can never use to drive, only for replays. See this video at the beginning and then compare to around the 4 minute mark:
My point is yes, hood view on every car would be really nice (it's one of the best things about playing Forza, very consistent) and many of these cars clearly *already have it in there*.
Inconsistency? None of the cars have a hood view in GT5. It's nose cam, in car, roof cam and chase cam. No hood at all, in replay perhaps but it's odd that PD just completely overlook that hood cam is a great replacement for cockpit as it's about the same level just centered and gives you optimum viewing angle without annoying A pillars blocking your view. Only thing we can do is badger them about allowing hood cam or at least an option to set the camera where you feel most comfortable to drive. I never really understood having little options in terms of view point in driving games, well gimmicky one I understand but not in GT.
