My vote was "yes". It's based on the frustration of spending hours pressing the "X" button to randomly cycle through names.
When I retired all my original B-Spec Bobs and hired a new crew, I spent probably three to four hours trying to get six drivers with the same last name (Smith).
However, as has already been pointed out, I also don't think that freely opening up name creation such that inappropriate names can intentionally be set is such a great idea.
It would be a nice compromise, though, if the naming process was not purely random. At least give us the opportunity to choose from a list of available names, even if it's only a list of last names where we can then enter the first initial of our choice.
My current B-Spec Bob crew names were chosen with a "guitar/bass musician" theme (C. Santana, R. Rhodes, P. Gilbert, G. Lee, D. Navarro, L. Paul), and I lost count of the number of times I had to pass a random last name like "Hendrix" or "Page" or "May" or "Vaughan" because the first initial wasn't what I was looking for...
Peace...
(P.S. Please feel free to add me as a friend, I regularly host online B-Spec races and I'm always looking for friends to do the same...)
