Yes 👍 I'd also like to be able to pick my A-spec mode name, when offline

That is the name of the PS3 user that you are using. If you want to change it...

1} Start your PS3
2} Go to the far left
3} Click triangle on the name of the User your using
4} Selest "edit name of user" (or something similar)
5} type in your new name.

FYI i put my real first initial and my last name, so i look just like the AI in the grid during replays :)

O.o As for the OP, i spent ages looking for a cool name and if i got to make my own i would have stared blankly at the screen for ten minutes trying to think up a clever one. If it was possible we would see a lot more abusive bob names.

I voted no as I found it very rewrding to finally get my 4 F1 drivers, 1 moto GP multi world champ and 1 WRC multi world champ.

Bad idea. Think about it. Although A.Hull and F.Yu sound cool, the rating of the game would most likely have to change.

I voted yes, but I think the best solution would be a compromise. You get the surname from the database in the same way you get the complete name at the moment, but you get to select the first initial rather than the current randomising rubbish.

No, beacauce I have not the imagination/time it take to find god name to Bob.
I would probably given all the name Bob, Bob2, Bob3 and so on.

I have a hard time believing those two names would force a ratings change. However, if that was a problem simply keep a list of unusable names. Problem solved.

I like my D. Pearson, D. Allison and R. Wallace and I'd rather not see offensive names used by other players. Then again, I never go into public lobbies so I may never see it.

I can't name my driver J.Tsukuba then, oh wait J.******

It could be a lot worse. There is a website that restricts most words or slang words of the female anatomy due to being deemed offensive. Due to this, the city of Corpus Christi is not allowed to be said:indiff:.

My vote was "yes". It's based on the frustration of spending hours pressing the "X" button to randomly cycle through names.

When I retired all my original B-Spec Bobs and hired a new crew, I spent probably three to four hours trying to get six drivers with the same last name (Smith).

However, as has already been pointed out, I also don't think that freely opening up name creation such that inappropriate names can intentionally be set is such a great idea.

It would be a nice compromise, though, if the naming process was not purely random. At least give us the opportunity to choose from a list of available names, even if it's only a list of last names where we can then enter the first initial of our choice.

My current B-Spec Bob crew names were chosen with a "guitar/bass musician" theme (C. Santana, R. Rhodes, P. Gilbert, G. Lee, D. Navarro, L. Paul), and I lost count of the number of times I had to pass a random last name like "Hendrix" or "Page" or "May" or "Vaughan" because the first initial wasn't what I was looking for...

Peace...

(P.S. Please feel free to add me as a friend, I regularly host online B-Spec races and I'm always looking for friends to do the same...)

No it makes it to easy, and just think of what online would be like with 100s of M Schumacher's and then some like F You etc it would just be annoying.

yes, as my last name is McNeal and i have 5 drivers so far with the (close enough) McNeil and dont even ask how long it took to do it
but it owuld have been so much easier if i could just have put in there names

I would love it. You have no idea how frustrating it is to get 3 n.weber in the space of w minute while searching...

I'd like to name my Bobs myself but I think there are a fair amount of people who play GT that fall into the immature age range and would have drivers with offensive and/or stupid names.

Fair point shem, how bout a naughty word filter inbuilt to stop people(young or just imature) from creating inappropiate names 👍

Yes and no. Maybe choose from a list of approved names. Otherwise a lot of U. ****'s would be driving around.

I'd rather choose the race length and specs for Bob to drive. Imagine the XP from 200 laps around Nordschlief.
