"The Pontiac Firebird Formula is a rear wheel drive car, with its engine placed in the front, and a 2 door coupé bodyshell.
Its 8 cylinder, overhead valve naturally aspirated engine has 2 valves per cylinder and a volume of 5 litres. This unit provides power and torque figures of 145 bhp (147 PS/108 kW) at 3800 rpm and 324 Nm (239 lbft/33 kgm) at 2400 rpm respectively.
The engine powers the wheels via a 4 speed manual transmission.
Its claimed kerb weight is 1542 kg.
Its maximum speed claimed is 160 km/h or 99 mph."

Not the fastest muscle car, but it's pure cool on wheels :D

My favourite firebird body style, the '79 to '81, what about the trans am or turbo trans am as well?

Cool indeed, but that engine is pitiful, if it makes it to the game, I'll lap it with my Midget

Welcome to the world of government regulated smog era cars that had no balls.

Though I bet a good engine builder could get it to piss all over a built 4 pot.

Well it's a 5L engine, surely a lot more horsepower could be extracted if worked on properly.

The Pontiac 400 (T/A 6.6) was available in the Formulas equipped with a 4 speed. Still made 220 HP. A much better option than the 301.
