pop ups

ok i have a problem with pop ups. i think that somehow i downloaded something onto my computer that saved a pop up ad onto my computer. i searched all my files for something that i didnt think should be there but that didnt do anything. i have used pop up blockers but that doesnt work. i used spybot and that hasnt helped at all. any clue on how i can get rid of it.

Have you used Adaware? Also is it the messenger popup or a normal internet popup?

i dont know if its messenger or normal. it pops up on everything i do. and no i havent used adaware.

all of those arent very helpful to me since mine is on my comp. and ive tried spybot like i said and it didnt do anything

install a firewall, like sygate personal firewall (free). then when the popup tries to retrieve an ad form a remote server, a dialog will popup informing you of this and giving you the name of the exe you need to delete.
