Wouldn't it be great if the porsche 962 was in the game. it is one of my most favorite race cars. i know its not in the game but i can still day dream!

So so true, i think it could own any car in GT4. but i know many people are going to have different opinions on that remark but the car is very fast and has grip even if compared to todays standerds. this car was basically the reason the rules in IMSA were changes, just a thought.

i think it would be VERY NICE CUZ the porsche 962 was one of the best Le Mans Racecars EVER!!!!
it would do a hard race against the Sauber Mercedes C9, the Nissan R89C , the Mazda 787B and against other "OLD GT1 CARS(CALLED GROUP C-CARS)"!!!!!

..............just let the people think of their DREAMS AND WISHES!!!

I'm a fan of the nissian r390 and i'm looking foward to the other nissian you put the pic of the r89 i believe. i remember watching those on TV. but i also remember the 962 in the late 80's just dominating.

YEAH THE R89C IS PRETTY GOOD BUT THE R90CK is much better ,more beautiful and more dynamic!!! 👍

horsepower: 723hp (later versions over 1000hp)
0-60MPH: 2.6 sec
topspeed: 254.6MPH (fastest recorded speed)
the fastest lap i can find: 3min 15.64sec (1988)

There was no 2000 McLaren F1. They stopped production in 1998 with the GTR Longtail.

I think we are about to be spamed with details and figures from GT-One Lover on how much better the GT-One is than the 962! - even though the 962/956 was the most successful GT car of all-time! and the GT-One won nothing!

i like you thinking. the gt-one is a great car, but the 962 is in my mind better. but oh well we all agree the 962 is a godly car.

The Koenig C62, Schuppan 962, and Dauer 962 were all road versions of the 962. There is no Porsche backed road version of the 962 though, they were meant as pure race cars.

Some comparisons.

Remember that the Group C cars had unrestricted engines and so could up the boost for qualifying. In the race they ran much slower. The Le Mans circuit is also slower now than in the early 1990s after numerous changes.

Current cars like the Audi R8 lap almost as quick in the race as in qualifying.

I see no reason why we will not see many more Group C and IMSA GTP cars from Jaguar, Nissan, Toyota etc. In the GT4P DVD a Japanease Group C Nissan from 1991/2 was being photographed and measured.

I'm hoping the Mazda 787B makes it into the final version. It was the first Japanesse car to ever win Le Man in 1991, and the first major victory for a rotary powered car
