Wonderful news. I would really like to see the car in both games. FM7 for Nordschleife hot lapping, FH4 for the pure joy of driving on the open road.

There's already a lot of really new 911... I'd have expected someting more original, or at least lacking in the game:
    1990 era F1?
    P2 ?
    Cadillac (classic or race)
    Chrysler
    Accura (race NSX)

    etc...

Maybe for the last car pack they promised?

For the first time in the series we will get a standard Carrera model and not a Turbo or GT. Fantastic. Now I'd love to get a Non-M 3-series.

May it be part of that famous car pack Season Pass holders were supposed to get for free, instead of a Showcase model? Wouldn't make much sense, tho - I imagine Porsche will want to give the 992 maximum exposure, and putting it behind a paywall in Forza would not serve that purpose.

Hopefully we'll see it added as a free car both to FM7 and FH4, where I know I'd put a lot of mileage in it.

As a minority opinion, I want this kind of Cadillac for FH.
I want to enjoy lowrider style paint job and enjoy cruising with Impala and Bel Air.
And I hope beat Ferrari and Lamborghini with this huge passenger liner.

I'm sure the cars they add to the game are dictated to some extent by access. It's probably extremely easy for Turn 10 to get access to new cars from the major luxury manufacturers, versus trying to chase down a 1990 F1 car that they can also get permission to scan and record. Porsche can also probably give them additional data and telemetry for a new car, that Turn 10 would probably have to obtain on their own with an older car (or generate entirely from scratch, in the case of the REALLY old stuff they can't just fire up and take for a spin)..

As far as I know they calculate the car behavior based on the individual component behavior.
But you may be right that they scan cars based on oportunity

While I love old American cars I don't think we need any more of them in FH4, especially given the setting. The list is already pretty huge, and I'm sure I've missed some here:
    • 1974 AMC Hornet X Hatchback
    • 1973 AMC Gremlin X
    • 1971 AMC Javelin AMX
    • 1987 Buick Regal GNX
    • 1988 Chevrolet Monte Carlo Super Sport
    • 1979 Chevrolet Camaro Z28
    • 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle Super Sport 454
    • 1970 Chevrolet Corvette ZR-1
    • 1970 Chevrolet El Camino Super Sport 454
    • 1970 Chevrolet Camaro Z28
    • 1969 Chevrolet Camaro Super Sport Coupe
    • 1969 Chevrolet Nova Super Sport 396
    • 1967 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray 427
    • 1966 Chevrolet Nova Super Sport
    • 1964 Chevrolet Impala Super Sport 409
    • 1960 Chevrolet Corvette
    • 1957 Chevrolet Bel Air
    • 1955 Chevrolet 150 Utility Sedan
    • 1953 Chevrolet Corvette
    • 1972 Chrysler VH Valiant Charger R/T E49
    • 1970 Dodge Challenger R/T
    • 1969 Dodge Charger R/T
    • 1969 Dodge Charger Daytona HEMI
    • 1968 Dodge Dart HEMI Super Stock
    • 1975 Ford Bronco
    • 1973 Ford XB Falcon GT
    • 1972 Ford Falcon XA GT-HO
    • 1971 Ford Mustang Mach 1
    • 1969 Ford Mustang Boss 302
    • 1965 Ford Mustang GT Coupe
    • 1969 Oldsmobile Hurst/Olds 442
    • 1971 Plymouth Cuda 426 HEMI
    • 1987 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am GTA
    • 1977 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am
    • 1973 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am SD-455
    • 1969 Pontiac GTO Judge

Regarding the Porsche, I'm excited for it as I love Porsches but I can certainly see people getting a bit tired of the amount of 911s in the game. There are already 12 of them including 2018 and 2019 models.

The 992's inclusion doesn't necessarily preclude any of those coming in the future. It's not an either/or problem — and given the relationship between T10 and Porsche, it's just as likely the latter approached the dev about getting the car in the game ASAP. I don't think any developer would say no, given that.

While true, there's very few from the same generation, and nothing approaching what we'd call a "base" model like the new car. There's two 997.2s (GT2 RS and GT3 RS 4.0), two 991.1s (Turbo S and GT3 RS), and two 992.2s (GT2 RS and GT3 RS). I'd say the 997s and 992s are the most similar pairings, but even then, I'm glad they're both in there instead of just one from either generation.

I'm hoping it's a C2S, but we'll see. I guess we can more or less make either drivetrain in Forza, anyway. I just hope that when the inevitable higher-performance models show up, they don't displace the first 992 in future titles.

Nobody mentioned anything about the 80s specifically as far as I can see, just classics. The 80s are a little bit under represented in the game in general:

    1920s: 1 car
    1930s: 7 cars
    1940s: 5
    1950s: 24
    1960s: 49
    1970s: 41
    1980s: 33
    1990s: 51
    2000s: 55
    2010s: 194

No, just the picture was an 80's Cadillac, you responded implying those types were already well represented, with a list including only 2 cars from that decade.

Well that's because you're just focusing on one exact thing, that no one really said. American Classics were mentioned, not American cars only from the 80s.

Ah I see, my list was just referring to classic American cars in general, not specifically those from the 80s (I should have quoted the first post looking at it now). I think they decided to go for more classic cars that were big in the UK for FH4, which makes sense given the setting. Things like the Escort RS Turbo and the Golf GTi make perfect additions from the 80s as they were huge over here, and the smaller lightweight cars from the 60s and 70s are still well loved today.

Well FH4 is more-or-less confirmed to have it. Now just for FM7.

Honestly im happy with this. There was a time when i always prefered FM, but there is so much content coming to FH4 and there are so many events i have yet to finish, im so glad i can do this with this beauty right there. Yeah, would have been nice to take this around the Nordschleife, but its not a race car. The 992 suits FH4 perfectly, but we can still hope it will show up in both titles.

It's not exactly a fully accurate list, it was quickly copied and pasted from a post on the Forza forums!

Oh, I can still think of more American muscle cars to add. For instance, till this day; there still isn't a Ford Torino in any Forza game. I'm not happy about that one bit. :grumpy:

There are so many classic American cars I still want. The 1972 Cadillac El Dorado tops my list. 19 feet long, 8 liter motor, 400 horsepower and best of all. It's front wheel drive, talk about a griefers dream!!!!

They did say during the stream that the influx of Australian cars in FH3 proved really popular, and as a result we could expect some more British metal to make it to this one.
