is it just me or is porting the GT series to the PC a good idea? some people might not have the bucks to buy a ps2, but have a computer.. and REALLY want to play GT3 or watever. (HEY! THAT SOUNDS LIKE ME!) anyhoo... i really wish (but prolly wont happen) that GT3 or any GT would get ported to the PC.

I don't think that a PC can replicate the quality graphics of GT3 on PS2. GT1, and GT2 on the other hand would be an easy port.

Hi Holek, welcome to GTPlanet! :D The GT series will never come to the PC, or any other platform for that matter. Sony is in the business to sell consoles, which they do with "killer apps" such as GT3.

Ahh screw it man. Just play it on the PS2. IMO, PC is best for RTS games and online FPS games. Not to mention Max Payne (which is tight as shiiaaat)

well with the GEforce3 cards im sure GT3 could get pretty close... maybe if i bitch at sony enough, they might.... hmmmmmm *rub chin* hehe for those other ppl that want a port to the PC, lets start a petition or something... might do somethin..

never know..

i also have been playing MAX PAYNE , i've been on it for about 2 weeks now and it is totally awesome man , gotta love the slo-motion diving shooting it is unlike any game i have played before , 10 /10 in my opinion if you got a pc then you gotta get max payne :D :D

fat chance of GT3 for pc.
it's the biggest thing sony has for PS2

I have to disagree with the max payne worship. I thought it was a game that was severely lacking. First off, my brand new video card dosent have a T&L engine (whatever that means) so I had to run it in ghetto mode. The lack of multiplayer was what got me the most. What kind of game dosent have multiplayer in this day and age. The concept was cool, but I wasnt impressed. (Iwould like to see it on a pc with a good video card)

Needless to say, it went back.

It ran like a dream on my GeForce 2 MX 400 64mb. The lack of multiplayer doesn't really bother me. Story and action really make up for it. The thing that got me was the AI. Very smart engine and in the hard difficulty modes, the longer you wait to gun em down, the more thought out and executed their plan was to flush you out of a corner while his buddy with a sawed-off guns you down.

Having read in a magazine interview with the GT3 creator when ask "Will we ever see GT3 as an arcade game?" the simple reply was "No, sorry, no arcade cabinet is currently powerful enough!"

While I don't doubt some of the new graphics cards could generate graphics to GT3 standards, to keep the whole lot running at 60 fps would be nigh on impossible!!

T&L stands for Transform and Lighting. It runs most of the newer special effects in the game such as air distortion behind bullets, and instead of flat polygons the lighting really adds to the mood. I was surprised by the lack of multiplayer, but with the bullet time thing, it wouldn't be possible, and that was a big part of the game. There is an upcoming game that is going to use the Max payne engine that I know you'll love. It's a little thing called "Duke Nukem' Forever" Better get a T&L card.;)
