Positive Vibes

And something that I also love of this game is the photo travel and race photo mode, you can spend hours just taking photos, you must dump a lot of photos that do not pass your quality check, but then realize that the cars and game itself is next-gen ready...

It's true, the photo mode isn't exactly my cup of tea, but it is astonishingly deep, and really show off the beauty of the game.

I'm going through different locations now, and I have to say that this is one of the strongest track lineups you can get your hands on without coughing up over $1k..... Well Played 👍

Along with all the cool real world locations like Brands Hatch, Bathurst and my beloved Ascari, PD's fantasy tracks really are amazing. People have been complaining about Cape Ring since it appeared in GT5, but that crazy multi-tiered loop really exists in Japan, someone discovered. I was with the nayzayers in the sense that it was an overly wild thing to include in a race track, but I didn't care because it was such a fun track. Well, we both got schooled. :D

I have no idea what the potential of a GT7 Prologue is going to do to the further development of GT6, but if PD doesn't drop most of it, I want to see those legacy GT tracks from the previous games, every last one of them, even Complex String. Though I doubt I'll race it more than once. ;)

Really? Where is it?

Some are complaining over the most tiniest things about GT6. I remember the years of playing F1 pole position when racing games used to be in a 2D world. Racing games have progressed over the years. I have completed GT6 to 100% and still playing online racing, still waiting for the updates and new seasonal events every 2 weeks, also all the new concept cars and tracks that will be added to GT6 as well. We are getting more updates to GT6 than we did in GT5. The physics have changed to where the cars can roll over easier which does help to make it the real driving simulator. If people are this disappointed with GT6, their are other racing games to play. Look at how racing games used to look in the 1980's and 90's and how they look now, big difference.

Well... to be fair, GT6 has to be updated more. ;)

But really, if PD gives us all the goodies we were promised, GT6 will be up there with some top shelf sims in form and features, and over the top fun factor. This is the first racing game in which the low powered subcompacts were fun for me to drive. And I can hardly wait to see what's in store for GT7.

I don't have much time to play gt6 due to having a young child, work etc. But managed to get in some good hours last night and I have to say it was great, physics so much better than gt5, tracks are great, loving willow springs and brands hatch. Even the career mode is much better even though everyone seems to be complaining about it, it's taking me a lot longer to progress than it did in gt5, the ai slowing down is a bit annoying but I have found that if you enter a car around 100pp lower than the limit then it makes for a pretty close race. Although I was hoping for more content in the update, I found that the new car search is really useful when looking for a new car to enter that meets the regs without trawling through the dealerships. Also the M4 frozen black metallic is great (even though we weren't supposed to get it!) I'm looking forward to all the content that's on it's way (yes I believe it will still be released as it is on the official website) but still plenty for me to do in the game, haven't even had chance to race online yet either

Yes, we do have them. ;)👍

Life keeps getting in the way of my GT6 playtime. Plus, I do have a ton o' games I have yet to even open up thanks to GT5 and 6. Bought the Assetto Corsa beta over the weekend and... haven't even installed it yet because, darn it, I want to take my F430 around Ascari again!

Maybe this weekend I can get some more positive vibage.

Orly.

Well, then perhaps you would be so kind as to explain to the forum just why all this content has been delayed. You really should if you know, you'd be the GT Planet Hero of the Week.

But let's go on, shall we? Did you complain up above and elseboard about something not working right? Let's try this scenario.

Because we forced PD to give us stuff just as soon as the last line of code was typed, we got it late, but hey, we got it. And then there are problems.

Course Maker tracks don't line up at the finish line. Cars vanish into the road. The bots can't follow it and pile up at the first curve.

The Event Maker deletes your bank account.

Race Mod keeps you from using anything but Racing Soft tires. Then the Livery Editor randomizes your tuning settings.

Leaderboards adjust everyone's times to match the current leader - NO LOSERS!

I think PD probably aren't yanking us around, but are taking their time to make sure the stuff they patch in is as bulletproof as possible. And I know my hypotheticals are all a worst case scenario, but do any of you recall how a certain car lot in our game mysteriously turned up empty from time to time?? *cue Twilight Zone guitar* ;)

To make it bulletproof is their problem and since they are professionals they should be able to do it in reasonable times. Now on the other hand, I paid for the game already more than 3 months ago and I still don't have most of the promised features and don't know when I will have them. They can't make it in time or they can't make it at all? Then don't promise it and frankly I was happy enough with GT5... I purchased GT6 only because of the new promised features, surely not because of a couple of new tracks and a better menu navigation (remember we paid $60 for this)

When they say "the internet is a scary place". ;)👍
I know that you absolutely adore and stroke fondly your PC sims, but there's a reason they sell in niche market numbers. If they were the ultimate racers, they would sell in Forza-like numbers and begin to creep up to Gran Turismo levels. But people are decidedly not turned on in the many millions by really nifty physics supporting dry, clinical, technical games designed mostly so online racing legends can compare the size of their virtual trophies.

Sims are fine, they have their place in the food chain, but you have to face the fact that those niche sales numbers indicate they don't feed gamers in general the way they do you guys.

To make it bulletproof is their problem and since they are professionals they should be able to do it in reasonable times. (etc)
Well, my post was on a slightly different tangent than that, but I'm aware of your complaints. However, what can we do about it? Sure, you can complain, but if you become too much of a nuisance, all you end up doing is garnering resentment from people who just want to enjoy what they have. I want EVERYTHING promised too, and GT7 on top of it all, but I can't make the universe bend to my will. All I can say is, stuff will come when it comes.

I would really like to hear your first thought's on AC D.

Ok you guys can go back on topic now ;)👍

As for the positive vibes, I would feel more positive towards PD if they could fix that damn pit glitch so that I can just get on with driving.

It will be my pleasure. Actually, the G25 is in the livingroom, but I doubt I can get around to getting it running till the weekend. I have to get a car legal and insured. :p I just hope I can connect with the cars because it does look like an admirable racer.

I don't know why PD don't just patch something into the online software. I can only think that they have something big they're working on they think is close to release, but some issue is eluding them.

If you need some advice on how to setup your wheel's FFB or in game settings, I could give you some advice on that. :)

I'm sure you will enjoy it, have fun ;)👍

I very recently went back to my old faithful arcade racer; Daytona USA.
It did not give me what I was after.

This will always be my favourite Arcade Racer, however, having experienced the visuals and applied realism to GT5p/GT5/GT6 (yes, a late starter) I am finding myself back at GT6 for the pure enjoyment of the applied realism of the sim/game as well as casually being able to drive on real world tracks in cars I will never get the opportunity to drive on or in.

I think the track list in GT6 is the best I've ever seen in a racing game. I was a little disappointed when I heard the Top Gear track wasn't going to be coming back but I haven't really missed it, and I think we've gotten some really amazing tracks in return.

I mostly just hotlap in GT (which I think is the real gem of GT) and having the new tracks have really made the game a whole lot more fun than GT5. The updated physics are better as well especially on slower cars.
