I very recently went back to my old faithful arcade racer; Daytona USA.
It did not give me what I was after.

This will always be my favourite Arcade Racer, however, having experienced the visuals and applied realism to GT5p/GT5/GT6 (yes, a late starter) I am finding myself back at GT6 for the pure enjoyment of the applied realism of the sim/game as well as casually being able to drive on real world tracks in cars I will never get the opportunity to drive on or in.

Daytona USA 2 will always be my favorite, but I sure enjoyed the first one as well. DAYTONAAA!

Speaking of, I'm glad they placed a bit more emphasis on NASCAR this time around. It's still, far from perfect, but the ridiculousness of being able to race NASCAR cars at Matterhorn more than makes up for it. :D

After not playing GT6 for a while and also reading these forums over the last few days, I was expecting to load up the worst game ever earlier. Then GT6 reminded me with the massive car/track lists, great physics and beautiful graphics that it is actually a very good game.

It is not perfect by any means and it would be nice if PD stuck to their words a little better, but that does not make GT6 in its current form the irredeemably awful steaming pile of turd many people on here seem to be convinced it is. In fact I'd say its quite the opposite if you can find a nice racing/cruising room online. :)

It's what I've been doing. So many games I still have to play on my PS3 and PSP...

It's good o have a detox from GT. When you get back, you see it with better eyes. But we still need all these little bits PD have in their private candy store. Give it to us! :)

Yes, I agree; I do like the implementation of NASCAR in GT5/6.

I seriously need a break from GT6 for a while. I forgot about a whole pile of games I haven't played - I still have unopened PS2 games! I have movies I haven't watched. I have fiction to write. I have a new synth to learn, a ton of synths to program, music to write.

I need to go out and eat once in a while! :p

Gran Turismo needs a warning label on it:

Caution: Gran Turismo may produce addictive tendencies much like any intoxicant, and your life may become a steaming pile of poo due to endless racing sessions. If you find that you haven't eaten within the last eight hours or bathed in a day, you may be suffering from GT addiction. Turn off your PS3, go outside, and remember that there is an entire universe outside your game room. Now take a shower. :D

I'm the same way. I had to stop for a while because I had games from Christmas I didn't even open yet! I find that taking some time away from GT not only gives you time to do other things/play other games, but helps keep the game feeling fresh and makes it overall a better experience.

Tickford race car at Bathurst is pretty hard to beat. Finally managed a 2:06.9 the other day (v8 supercar fans will appreciate the significance of that). Almost made me forget all of GT6's shortcomings (almost)
