Gran Turismo is also a flagship title that's been around for nearly thirty years that has a proven formula and relies VERY heavily on content well known to the community.
For instance, High Speed Ring was in GT1.
The idea that all of that will be thrown out the window in favor of a format that the most faith player loathe seems like a lose/lose situation. GT is not and never will be an open world game.
Will Sony make an open world game? Maybe, but it won't be called Gran Turismo. I would be my life on this.
