Possible bug with exhaust on RM-cars

I've had a race modified Dodge Challenger R/T RM '70 since one of the first days I started playing GT5. I really like driving that car.

Then tonight I bought another Challenger and race modified it and tuned it in the excact same way as my old car - but then I saw a strange thing in "Settings". The Titanium Racing Exhaust was not chosen - and since the Titanium Racing is the only exhaust you can choose on an RM-car, that was a bit strange - so I chose it/checked it. The car now got MORE Hp than my old Challenger, and the new was not even breaked in - it was still a 0-mile. And agan I assure you that my new Challenger is tuned in the same way as my old one! I double- and triblechecked it. Besides, I overhauled the engine on my old Challenger to make sure, even though I had only driven it for 532,6 km. in total, but I got the same result.

I am quite certain that the Titanium Exhaust was automatically checked at the time, I race modified my old Challenger.

My guess is that I doubled the effect of the Titanium Exhaust when I chose it/checked it on the new Challenger. This is a bug - but not a terrible one of couse :) .

What is your comments? Have you experienced this?

Thanks.

Works with the RM vettes too, leave that box unchecked and listen to the glorious bellow of a V8 :dopey:

I have all the RM cars. When you RM the car the racing exhaust is not installed by default. When you installed it, you aren't able to uninstalled it.

I think it's a bug, RM are supposed to have a race exhaust...

Another bug I found, well rather a mate found, was that if you do the first 2 engine tuning on the S15, then RM, it wont let you put anymore engine tuning on, I went to put stage 3 on and it said the parts had to be installed in order, I went to try and put stage 1 on and it said it was already installed, I then went and tried stage 2 and it also said it was already installed. Always a good idea to remember to RM before adding parts.

That is a "bug" I can help you fix! I had the same issue after RMing a TVR. What happens is that when you have previously purchased the parts before RMing a car they are added to your settings menu, then when you RM the car they are still in your settings menu but no longer installed.
So when you say that it tells you the part has already been installed that is in the tuning (purchase) menu, however, if you go to the garage then the settings menu you can reinstall the previoulsly purchased parts and then go back to the purchase menu and buy Engine Stage 3! Hope that helps! 👍

As for the OP, I think you have overlooked something because I have RMed multiples of each car which can be RMed, some prior to and some since the "bug" that stops the Racing Exhaust from being attached by default. All you need to do is go to your settings menu and fit the Racing Exhaust and the problem is solved. It does NOT however, increase the maximum power above what it should be...
I know this because I have at least 3 of each RM and like I said the latest batch were all done since the "bug" and all have identical performance figures as their pre-"bug" counterparts! ;)

The most likely scenario would be that, you have all parts installed on both cars but have used the power limiter at some stage during the life of the first car and forgot to reset it to 100%... Just a thought but I can guarantee you don't get any additional benefit from the fact you must now manually fit the Racing Exhaust on RM cars. 👍

Cheers, Xerx :)

Well - I do have eyes in my head and i can tell you, that in my case it did increase the maximum power compared to my old Challenger. I just checked again, and my old Challenger is on 100% . I don't care if you don't believe me.

Thanks to you all :) .

Don't take my suggestion as an attack mate, I was simply trying to help solve your issue with the information I have, I know from personal experience that I have never gained any extra BHP with the new system and was passing that on with the suggestion that you may have over looked the power limiter... Don't take offecnce I was trying to help... It is people like you who attack those that try to help, who inevitably stop people (like myself) who try to help others from bothering because we make a suggestion, it doesn't work and you get all defensive and angry that we made a bad suggestion... Sorry, I will refrain from anwering any queries you have in the future.

Cheers, Xerx :)

To be honest, I don't consider it to be a bug, I consider it to be awesome :D

Leave it un-ticked and you don't have to listen to the horrible titanium exhaust!

PD PLEASE DON'T PATCH THIS!

No, no - you completely misunderstood me. Sorry - it was not meant as an attack. I just made a big effort of telling very clearly in my first post, that I had checked e v e r y t h i n g :) .

Sorry if my post was a bit offensive.
