Ok so I get what PD was doing with the $1mil trade cap, but it really isn't a proper fix, and I know they will probably never go back to the way it was. But, I have an idea which may make everyone happy, let me know what you guys think. Hopefully with enough support from you guys someone from PD might see my idea and consider it. Wishful thinking I'm sure, but here goes:

Theoretically what they have done is made it so that one million dollars can be sent in one day, but I'm thinking maybe you could have something similar to rollover minutes for trading. You could choose to send a 5 mil car and then not trade again for 5 days, or if you don't send a car for 5 days you could then send a 5 million value car. This would still allow trading without making rare cars worthless. If people had to dedicate 10 or 20 days to get that F10 or X2010 then they would think twice before doing it. Just a though, let's hear what the community thinks :)

I like it ... Seems an incredibly fair way of doing it ... However, how would it work, say I trade you a 20million X1 for an FGT ... Would I be penalised for 20 days or for 4 days? Do you pay the price for what you send or receive? Or do both people suffer the penalty for the highest value car in the trade?

It would definately add value to higher priced cars ... It would be great for me as I don't do much trading :P

One thing though, I beleive now, now as all of the cars have been duped so many times, whats the point in restricting it? Just think about what has happened and implement it in GT6 ... Don't just slap a restriction just like that, it doesn't work that simply.

How about they don't fix what ain't broke? I get your idea but they made the rules initially and now they are surprised people took advantage? Lame.

Thankfully I got a full month of duping and trading done before this mess. I feel sorry for anyone is buying the game now.

I think the sender pays the price. Seems fair to me. I shouldn't have to pay 20 days if I send a 5 million dollar car. All that could be worked out, I'm just presenting the simple concept :)

Reasonable point but they had to do something. The most coveted car in the game became a paper weight that people would give away for a rare corvette. And with people making real money selling them online there had to be action. But now if I truly want to give or receive a nice car, I can't. I'm just touching on a middle ground so that everyone can win. Hopefully :)

You're being too nice. They're a-holes for doing what they pulled last night. :sly:

No, people who were selling copied x2010s for $50 are the a-holes. They're who ruined it. PD is just trying to fix a problem. It wasn't the best way to do it, I admit, but they had to do something. Althogh it may be too little, too late.

My idea comes from pokemon :p i know i know just hear me out.

As far as i can tell, all assinging a car to online status does is allow you to show it off. But thats not the key part. My idea is to have the gift system like now but also have a proper trade system based on the pokemon method of you both select a car ( at any time) and once both have been seleceted the trade is completed. Helps to stop bloody scammers and anyone who wants to dupe and not play properly can use the gift system.

Ok that's a pretty good idea too, but honestly I duped when trading. I never sold any cars on eBay but I did back up and copy. So I wouldn't really like that :/ it ain't right but hey at least I'm honest lol

people who were selling copied x2010s for $50 BUT NEVER DELIVER AFTER RECEIVING THE MONEY are the main cause for trouble....

If people choose to pay for their cars, who are we to say their choice is wrong and shouldn`t be allowed?

First the US GT Academy were ruined by cheaters, and now the Gift System being handicapped because of dishonest ebay traders.

Capitolism at it's best :grumpy: sometimes I hate admitting these people are Americans, they give us bad names. But not delivering has nothing to do with Sony or PD, that should've been handled by eBay and/or PayPal

Yes but you are forgetting GT5 is from Japan and the Japanese are very particular about their product`s reputation. For PD to learn that GT5 has been (indirectly) used in some sort of scam is reason enough for them to clamp down on it.

To be frank, I am a trader in my region and have made a lot of new online friends while trading. It is easy because we share a common interest (GT5!). I doubt the scammers ever played the actual game.....

True but it all comes back to spoiling it for all of us cuz of a few bad apples, like elementary school.

Interesting concept but I'm not sure if I like it. It seems like it would take to long to collect the cars worth collecting. With over 20 different X1s to collect that would take by your way over 400 days. Ouch.

Thats the whole idea behind it. It gives them their value back 👍
