A massive one, the standard has 80 something hp and the premium has 216 not run in
 
Just had a look at the leader board that MadMax created and saw that my Samba Bus was quicker than all of the ones on it. How does 13.789 compare to anyone else's 1/4 drag time in a samba bus.

I could have sworn I had mine doing 13 flat....I don't remember.
 
Really? thats incredible, I hade a look at the leader board and mine was faster by a small margin. If it can do that I am in serious trouble, cause I won't be known for my quick classic VW's.
 
Now I feel like tuning the bus.. Why don't we all have a DeLorean tuning competition? :) First one to 88 MPH wins.

I know mine can be quicker, I posted with an unfinished suspension setup, I ran out of time that week and never went back to it. I was just happy to get it under 14 seconds and nobody else seemed to be posting times for it so I put it up, hopefully more will start to seriously tune the bus... It really surprises a lot of unsuspecting people when they only ever saw it in the top gear test track challenge where it was a real slug.

It's still a slug compared to almost every car people use on the strip. Most vehicles 300hp and lower can usually make it into the 12 second bracket, unless they're pretty heavy.

Thats insane, are you sure it's that fast or are you having me on. I'll have to have a race some time, like the beetles with you and Kenny but this time in buses
 
My beetle is slow now. I'm pretty sure it was pushing it. Been 2 months now though.
