Although it was very difficult to drive without proper tuning,
the Dodge Concept Car (Copperhead) was the fastest car in GT1
with full upgrades...not necessarily top speed, but it did set a majority
of my lap records in GT1.
In GT2, I would have to say the Escudo was by far the fastest, but
most of my lap records in GT2 were set with the ZZII. The Lotus GT1,
GT-One, and R390 were all very close.
In GT3, obviuosly my records are in F1 cars, usually the F 094/s...
for convential cars, the GT-One, R390, 787B, Zonda, and ZZII, are
fastest for me.
GT:C and GT4:P...don't know, haven't played either.
My fastest speed ever was with the GT_One on the Test Course in GT3.

I'm sure someone else around here knows about this.
Some say this is a glitch.
Allright...get into the GT-One. You will need the Stage4 turbo.
Go to run and test (in Home) and go to the Test Course.
Turn ALL settings on the car as low as they will go, except for
REAR DOWNFORCE which should be set at maximum.
Set the gear ratios very long -- final drive low, and the main slider as far right as it goes.

On the track, at around 230mph, the front end should begin to lift up.
Very quickly, the engine will redline and continue to accelerate the car.
Even on a bad lap you should be able to reach 1200mph before the wall of the turn begins to slow you down.
Consistently reaching 1200mph on a lap should net a time of about 1:05-1:06.
By tweaking some settings a tiny bit at minute levels and fine tuning your gear ratios, you will find that you may be able to gain 10ths from setup to setup.
One more thing...the wilder the car gets after hitting the wall, the better.
Normally, as described above, you will come off the wall onto the straight at
about 217mph...wild bouncing only helps you come off with a couple more mph
which is exactly what you want.
Hell, you don't even have to steer.

This will also work for certain other cars, but none are as fast.. (R390, 787B, etc.)
Like I said, Mach 2.5 (1800mph) is possible...I have the lap times to prove it.
I can post pix to verify.
 
We know about the wheelie tricks, you get the fastest in the Escudo with a stage 4 in it I think.
 
best car from GT2 is easily the Sileighty. I 'm glad that is coming back. In GT3, i like using the 3000gt and impreza lm car.
 
Escudo won't do wheelies as well as the GT prototypes.
But it is definitely the most powerful.
I have a setup for one of my Escudos that allows for very entertaining
2 player races at the Test Course that end up being nothing but drafting exercises
at 300+.
Whoever makes the best move coming out of the last turn wins.
Unrealistic, but definitely fun.

Ah GT1, what fond memories.

- Civic '93 Si: my first car, kept it all the way through the game, a tradition I still keep today. Modified, it could take the big sports cars.

- Subaru Impreza, whichever one cost about 30,000 cr. 2nd car, saved up from the start for it. Began my interest in the Impreza.

- Civic CRX SiR: Yellow with the black hood, that goofy little car made for fun racing against the big boys.

- Autumn Ring tracks: I miss them.

- Hi-Res mode: I wonder what this would look like now? Haven't played in so long.
