The one missing feature is this:

C-Spec.
You have your own driver.
You are on the passenger-seat.
You can fully look around and enjoy the scenery.
Then you can press select.
This will open your incar laptop and enables you to

Wait for it....

Logon to GTP!!! And then stalk the forums!!!!

Awesome to everything aside from the laptop idea

more than missing, GT6 should get rid of GT auto entirely (oil change, motor and chassis restoration, wash). There's no point for all that on a console game since that isn't fun and actually doesn't add realism.
This holds especially true when playing online, which means leaving the room, searching the car in the garage (which takes more than a minute in some cases) going to GT auto just to oil change, go back to the room and then going back to the tuning shop since you forgot to do some weight reductions and chassis rigidity....and then finally race after spending 10 minutes in the menus.

better menu system. This includes more options to choose cars from the garage, including typing the name or manufacturer on your keyboard/ds3/wheel, allow to buy multiple cars at the same time both on the UCD and NCD, adding an option to enter GT mode automatically when lauching the game, and many many others.
I think I have spent more time in the menus than on the track.

earning credits on free run rooms, based on time spent on the track, and in practice mode.

and finally, just steal ideas from the competition. NFS games always add something that no other game has; forza4 really nailed the fun factor, menus, extras (clarkson, livery editor and many others), online mode, immersion and being addictive by encouraging global and friendly competition, and DLC; and F1 2011 is probably the most entertaining racing game there is atm for open wheeler racing fans, and so on.

Also please take the time to play/compete in PC sims. Just do a rip off of LFS or netkar pro clutch, spend some time improving the tyre model and physics in general (iracing, which has many tuning and racing elements that aren't present in GT5), have better tutorials like RBR, GTR2 and lfs do (iracing features real life videos as well), try some of the best tracks and cars in rfactor because some are really worth trying and are way different than what you can get in other sims and games (especially classic cars, old tracks, classic versions of current tracks, being able to free roam on tracks and point to point racing in which you really fall off mountains), and even try some of the new projects such as kart racing pro (easily the best kart sim), c.a.r.s (the future or a rip off? lol) and rfactor2 (check videos at ISI's youtube channel).

I'd like the option of searching for cars in the garage within a certain PP or HP range i.e between 400PP and 500PP. Would make searching for cars for online or seasonal races easier instead of scrolling from the top through all the cars till you reach that PP limit

I think GTAuto should stay... But transform the aero section into a fully functioning body shop. If you damage a car it should stay damaged until you go to GTAuto Bodyshop to fix it. While your there getting your quarters replaced grab a veilslide kit, bride seats and a sparco steering wheel. Then go to the wheel showroom and grab some Helo's. "Yes sir and would you like those in 17", 19" 20" or 24"?" Wrap them in Toyos cuz Firestone Tires suck. (Trust me I used to work there.)

Car Decal Shop
More realistic tuner parts. Ex if you could buy a Intercooler, when where would be a front mounted intercooler on your car, not just black and shadow.. and gauges for Oil temp, bar etc.

OEM shop and Aftermarket tuner shop with bodykits, rims, tires, mirrors, seats and all that stuff. Ex the OEM-shop: You customize your Golf 6 R with the VW LED taillights and maybe some Rotiform or OZ Rims.

that would be nice!!

Great ideas here 👍

Mine is simple, and I added to the Feedback section also:

Give us an option to disable the "Ghost car". This will make the game more realistic when you play with heavy damage during an online race. Is just unfair when you see some people that takes shortcuts and the penalty system doesn't work.
This is annoying because of that penalty system. Sometimes you are penalized for a little approach to the end of the asphalt and sometimes don't.
If we have this kind of option we can race in a peaceful and very realistic way.

What do you think about it?

One small detail i'd love to have updated would be a rain covered body texture. Can it be done as simply as gradually loading a translucent PNG(?) rain texture to the car body as it rains in the race ?

In replays, when it's raining, the cars ( premiums ) have windscreen wipers working, but no actual rain anywhere to be seen on the body of the car :) I think Project Gotham Racing 3 ( or4? ) had a really nice rain drops texture for when it rained on track and it'd definitely add to replays in GT5 if they did that.

Also, on a related note, they should add windscreen wipers to the standards if possible. Looks odd in cockpit mode when it's raining at the mo :)

Give us an option to disable the "Ghost car". This will make the game more realistic when you play with heavy damage during an online race.

This would be nice if optional (with people you can trust) but only if there was a flag system (yellow and blue flags, etc.) and a penalty for not obeying them, etc.
This would make a long race more engaging for the whole field, the frontrunners need to be alert and can benefit from slipstream whilst the backmarkers need to be much more cautious not to get in the way which at least makes being lapped a different challenge in itself instead of just being a boring long 'walk of shame'.
But it's probably to complicated to implement easily.

Expand the Course Maker. It needs more track layouts and just like anything else, it needs more options. The terribly positioned and over-sized hill elevations need ways to be adjusted, most of all. Mt Aso had potential, but the tracks are way too short for there to be a half mile straight and 1/4 mile hill climbs at the end of 99% of the tracks.

Also, choosing Normal or Reverse for any Course Maker track needs to be an added option. It baffles me how that isn't an option, and it's odd that they didn't leave point-to-point races. What could possibly have interrupted that?

Improvements I'd like to see:

Offline:
- option to add 'notes' to cars (with user-made descriptions)
- option to add 'notes' to tracks (not while in race, but in the menu). For example: you can add notes to remember what parts of the track to practice on, or which parts make good photomode pics, etc.
- 'unlimited' length of timetrial list on tracks (practicemode and arcade). (now only 10 or 12 best times are visible)
- categorize timetrials for offline for stock cars, tuning, and RM/racecars
- PD should remove all possibilities to car duping, glitching or other exploits of the game

Online:
- online leaderboards for stock, tuning and RM/racecars (+ option to download player ghosts and compete with them in offline/practice mode just like in Dirt 2)
- option to add notes to private lobbies (for example, usermade rules of the lobby, a welcome message, or anything the host can think of. This greatly helps in 'Cops mode', where there are various rules)
- videomode / upload (export to XMB in HD-format)
- option for host to kick players while host is IN the race
- option to disable the online chat or make it invisible
- option to change roomname after room is created
- option to change race type (free run, race for real, etc.) after room is created
- option to disable chatfilter
- online lobby should be more clear / organized / structured. It's a mess now.
- online market for cars, parts, horns, paints, etc.
- in online 'Free run' the option to 'start race' should be removed. If host wants to start race, he should change the 'race mode' of the room (and of course, race mode should be changable after room is created, see a previous note)
- change the Race types in online, i.e.:
. ---------> Race for real: players have to put credits in order to attend a race (joining a room requires no fees, but playing a race should require it). Amount of fee must be set by Host (for example: minimum fee = X credits)
. ---------> Race for fun: racing for fun, no bets or anything required to play a race in that room
. ---------> Free run: nothing should be changed, except to remove the option to 'start race' (if host wants to race, the 'racetype' of the lobby should be changed to 'Race for real/fun')
. ---------> Cops mode: new mode. Players choosing to be cops are given a highly tuned Nissan Pace car and their names should be Highlighted or given a 'Cop'-tag. Only x number of cops are allowed (x can be set by Host). Host should assign the players wanting to be cops as cops, but can also disable them from being cop.
. ---------> Drag mode[/t]: new mode. Requires special 'drag' tracks (100m, 400m, 1000m). Tracks should be available as straight or as a quarter circle (to add some difficulty). A sudden Start-sign or sound or whatever should be given after which the players can hit the gas (it should not be possible to hit the gas before this sign to disable 'revving'). This way it not only comes down to car performance, but also user reaction speed. Drag modes must also come in 2 ways: 'Standing start' and 'Rolling start'. In rolling start, the rolling speed can be set by Host ( 0 > rolling speed < 150km/h).

- The above described Drag mode should also be available offline in practice mode
- Players should gain an online ranking, based on their driving style 'clean, neutral, wreckless', where clean stands for very clean driving, and wreckless stands for....well, i hope you understand

Car options/features
- Turn on/off of standard car lights.
- Option to turn on lights of cars and keep it on without holding the button.
- Option to turn off the sweepers while in rain
- A working back rain sweeper and option to turn it off even in rain
- Much much more rims!!!
- Rim editor/designer ????
- Full & advanced livery editor (add stripes, add multiple colors, add images/stickers onto cars, etc.)
- Editor for colors of letters on tires (for the more sporty look)
- Editor for shades of car windows
- Editor for grills of cars
- Editor for side mirrors of cars (i.e.: choose for different styles of side mirrors)
- Lights editor (change head/tail lights of car in color and style)
- option to remove standard spoiler on cars that have it
- much much more cars should be able to have side/front/rear wings/
- much bigger spoiler variability in GT-auto. Same goes for side/front wings

Cars as DLC
- Porsche, as many models as possibles, as many year of builds of same model as possible!!!
- Hotrods!!!!
- Indy cars!!!
- More of: maserati, lamborghini, USA & old muscle cars, F1 cars,
- More premiums
- More different versions of same car (except for the obvious skylines etc.), for example, more Golf I's, II's, III's, more Peugeot 206's....More different year of builds, the better

Circuits & tracks:
- More real world circuits
- More tracks with weather/day-night options
- More weather variability (storm, foggy, snow, freezing/slippery roads, etc.)
- Tracks with different SEASONS (winter, summer, spring, autumn) and corresponding weather variability
- Test course & Complex String course.
- A long straight track with 'slalom' pylons. Distance between pylons can be set by user. Track should be long enough. Purpose of track is to test car in 'slalomming'.
- Special Drag tracks (straight and as a quarter of a circle) in 100m, 400m, 1000m & 2000m variants. Standing & rolling starts. Rolling start speed can be set by user. See also the 'Online section' of this list.
- A track consisting of a large, perfect round 'Disk'. The disk must be all tarmac and fully driveable. On the disk/circle are white lines in the form of circles (so the user can use the lines as guide to drive in a perfect circle). The purpose of this track is to test grip-levels (where a car drives in circle to determine the grip level of the tires) on different tires and with different tunes. See from 1:01 mark in video for more information:

EDIT: I completely forgot GT2 had something similar:

------------------------------------------------End of List-------------------------------------------------
--------------------------------------(though still under progress)---------------------------------------
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Note I: The message is -> The more options, the better. The more a user can play the game in a realistic way, the better. The more a user can play the game in his/her own way (customizing cars if he likes that), the better. The more advanced/rigoruous the user can test his/her car (see the 'Circuit & Tracks' section), the better.
Note II: The racing/driving is already perfect i believe. So full props to PD for that; I believe PD has put their full energy on that aspect of the game and i think they accomplished their goal regarding that aspect. But now PD now has to concentrate on all side-things, as mentioned in above list. This way, users have the OPTION to change cars to their liking, and more serious players have the OPTION to test their car extensively and make a perfect tuning.
Note III: If you have or now of a big a sticky thread regarding this subject or would like to send PD a message/feedback regarding Gran Turismo series and think my list of 'improvements' is a good list that you feel should be under the attention of PD, then please feel free to copy the list and post it in your message, so PD knowns of the feedback of the community.
