I just realized that tomorrow, the 19th of July, will be my two year anniversary here at GTPlanet.(:nervous: ) Granted, I haven't been very active, due to my lack of interest in Gran Turismo as a whole, but it's all good.

So I thought just for kicks I'd go back and look at some of the posts I made when I was a wee lad of thirteen. (I'm 15 now.) What I've noticed mostly from my posts then, and my posts now, is that my posts seem (to me atleast) a lot more thought out, and I do a better job of not making myself look like a retard.

So anyway, has anyone else noticed a difference in their posting styles from when they first registered and now? 💡

Yeah,i seem to notice my posting style changed dramatically since i first registered here about 2 months ago...Like now,i got more involved in conversations and tend to talk out loud. When i first registered here,i didn't know what to post or even what to say,but now i'm more outgoing in terms of topics (sometimes too outgoing :nervous: ) but anyways, happy anniversary nissan350z!

certainly.

well, I'd like t think I've improved :sly:

We all improve, especially as you go through adolescence.

I was cleaning my room the other day and found all these school notebooks from when I was about 10 years old. They were just atrocious by my current standards.

Yeah, my posts are mostly legible now. :-)

I don’t like reading my old posts. They’re too embarrassing.

'cept on weekends after dark.

I think I've changed a bit, too. My posts seem to be a bit longer and more thought out (but that could just be a virtue of mostly posting in the gaming forums), too, but that's just me.

Mine is still similar to how when I first joined - confusing and verbose with very random typos and words left out from my brain going faster than my fingers. :dopey:

That aside, overall, I think the quality has gone up a bit, and I completely missed by 3 year mark back on the 9th

Oh, thats the other thing, I know the smiley code's now ;)

BTW - I just saw some of McLaren's posts from way back (went to check out my old posts), and that was a distinctive style with the " Hiya! (smilieys go here) Meow! (='.'=)" thing.

Oh, puh-lease. There are 5-year-old posts of yours here that people twice your age would be proud to have made (if they weren't immature idiots, that is).

;)

I can't say my posting style has really changed much... though I was in my late 30s when I joined up.

It took me exactly 50 posts to find the opinions forum and start the thread below (according to the search engine):

https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/showthread.php?t=20443

Some of my first 50 posts were done without doing any research. I have to admit that that stemmed from a basic lack of care for the quality of the message board. I figured I just needed an answer about GT3, and if someone answered me I didn't care if I reposted a thread or got flamed.

Well, I did get flamed for not using the search. And I kept coming back for discussions about GT3 and eventually found a reason to stay. Now I'd never consider making the same posts I did before.

But, in my defense, I'd never really used a message board before.

So this was my first message board ever. I believe I started with Famine, Danoff and TM trying to school me on evolution. Talk about not knowing what you are getting into. I guess you could say I jumped in with both feet and was taught a few things real quick about posting.

Holy crap grandpa. :scared:

One thing I've really noticed from my posts way back and now is that I capitalize all my letters correctly now.

My posting style has underwent one really big change. In the beginning I tried to use perfect grammar and be very polite just about everything, to make sure people wouldn't get angry at me. Now I still try to use perfect grammar but the politeness has been swapped for irony and bluntness where it is needed... :p

I see you developed a habit of signing your posts as well. :yuck:

Post signing is among the stupidest things you can do. I know who you are, I promise. Your name is only a dozen pixels up and to the left.

I think I take a less hostile tone now that I did back when, I think the overall quality of my posts improved a lot from first signing up to within a year or so. Where it's gone from there I'm not too sure. Since then I'd say it probably cycles a bit, I'm often trying to rush my posts, and sometimes it shows. Though I'm making more of an effort to keep that to a minimum these days.

My posts have gotten better, a lot less newb and immature.

Unfortunately, the username stays :(

My grammer and speeling have mostly been top notch, besides 6 months of noob posting, and whoring my pic thread. I was a lot more knowledgeable and useful back in the GT3 Forums. One time, I corrected Famine! :dopey: Although I don't feel I post enough to make a real contribution as a whole.

If you really hate your username so much, you could just buy GTPremium for a month or so.... :D

Well now you have a month to change it. :)

Wow, Blake, you're generous! I'll only hassle you a little bit if your card trick sucks.

I don't believe in my vast posting experience (this will be my 33rd..) that my style has changed. Give me time.

Aw, you’re too kind. ;) But honestly, even if I look at my posts from like two months ago, I cringe for some reason. And that goes for my schoolwork too. I just don’t like reading my own writing for some reason.

 I do believe I remember that. You certainly chose a tough crowd to go up against. :p

My postings?

I'd say that have generally improved over the past two or so years. Much of that I assume is generally because you spend time writing, conversating, and debating, and thusly one would want to sound somewhat intelligent when writing on the forums.

The oldest postings I could find of my own date back to late 2005, or maybe early 2006, so they presumably aren't the greatest measurements of what I have been able to do. I think the most notable change has been my attitude towards Ford, and foreign cars in general, however my opinion of Toyota has significantly dropped since joining GTP... You could almost say the same for Sony as well.

Growing up changes a lot of stuff, and I know going from High School to nearly my Junior year of College spreads a pretty big spectrum of changing ideas and attitudes. I think it has been reflected here.
