Aw, you’re too kind. But honestly, even if I look at my posts from like two months ago, I cringe for some reason. And that goes for my schoolwork too. I just don’t like reading my own writing for some reason.
Nerd.

Oh wait, wrong thread.. Just kidding, I'll be kind. I'm still waiting for those hotdogs, though..

but yer bak on topic n yer deres nevr bin anytin rong wid my postin lolz

I reckon that my posting style has changed a bit. My threads which i made near the time when i joined were like all locked. I dont make too many threads now.

Although I registered in 2003 (probably to be able to download a GT4 preview video from the site, if any were out yet), my first post was made in 2005, and considering I was already 18 by then, there hasn't been much improvement (if any) in my spelling, grammar, and post structure.

There isn't much to regret from my early posts, either, although looking back, I did notice that my very first post about Gran Turismo (the only reason why I started posting at all was the Enthusia subforum in the PS2 forum), was quite troll-like. My later posts displayed a greater level of tact in their criticism, although they were still a bit extreme compared to today.

As I'm looking at this stuff, though, it brings back memories...niky essentially telling me to "GTFO if you hate GT4 so much," before we found our points of agreement and became great friends...debating physics with Scaff in more than one thread before I even reached 100 posts...

I see you developed a habit of signing your posts as well. :yuck:

Post signing is among the stupidest things you can do. I know who you are, I promise. Your name is only a dozen pixels up and to the left.
You'll probably look back at this post two years from now and regret it.

I figured I just needed an answer about GT3, and if someone answered me I didn't care if I reposted a thread or got flamed.
As stupid as this sounds, I never imagined you actually came to GTP here to talk about video games; I just thought you came here to stir the pot a bit!

My first posts were a bit flighty, but nothing too stupid, since it wasn't my first exposure to message boards. Over-use of the ellipse...was...quite...common...in my first posts, so that's about the only big change to my style in the past 5 years. Spell-checking, more sarcasm, using bold and italics a little more sparingly, use of hyperlinks to illustrate a point, were some of the detail changes I've made of the years.

GTP: Come for the GT, stay for the chit-chat.

Don't be fooled by the subterfuge. Dan is a robot from the future, sent here from a utopian society to punish liberals and mystics for existing.

I don't remember what my first posts were like. I think it was the GT3 suspension guide, which makes for a great read if you're having trouble sleeping.

Care to take this up with M-Spec, The Interceptor, Wallrunner, and a few others? :trouble:

I'm just kidding. I think that most people who sign there posts are the more significant members.

Does not compute!

Who is dan? I only know daaaaaaaaaaaan. He's quite good at cider pouring I hear.

No, Danoff won the GTP Mass-debate.

You need an ocular exam. And if you do, you shouldn't be driving a bus.

Most definetly. Granted I can't see my very first post because the site won't let you look back that far but I can see far back enough to realize that my postings sucked. Bad grammar and stuff like that. I'd like to think they've improved which I hope they have since i've been here for 5 years.

I think everyone's posts get better around here because without maturity or decent grammar, you'd get eaten alive.

There was a time (even before there was an ///M-Spec, and Jordan saw that this was good; and in the name of the Server, the Database, and Holy Language of PHP....where was I?) when you could get away with sloppier standards for posting, but with the growth of GTP and the increasing numbers in our community, we had to set forth standards that were easy enough for everyone to follow.

It was difficult enough to get everyone to search for information (Y0! Plz hlp me f1nd da eff-wun carz? Lol11!!1337!), so getting search terms available for people to search had to be made. Weeding out the lazy and ignorant was a necessary step towards creating a place where people cared about the content and other members of our community. By checking out other forums, it's not much of a stretch to see that those who usually don't put much care into typing out their posts, don't really care to help out other members. And if the information is sloppily handed out, who's to say that the content is factual?

So yes, some say the community feeling is lost, but this is mainly due to the membership leaving because of time restraints, differing interests, not necessarily because we've ticked them off (well, maybe a few of them). Some have actually lost interest in Gran Turismo, for example...

Point is, I'm nothing to this message board if I had nothing important to say. The same goes for all of us here.

Wow thats a great post.

I sometimes just randomly go look at really old thread eg. 2002,03 and people have like posted 10 times in a row without anyone saying anything :dunce:

Well let's see... about 3 months ago I had TERRIBLE posts but now I think I've improved. Who agrees?

:-)

I don't recall reading any of your posts since three months ago.

He joined in June. This is July.

His posts are just as good as his maths.

Mine is still similar to how when I first joined - confusing and verbose with
BTW - I just saw some of McLaren's posts from way back (went to check out my old posts), and that was a distinctive style with the " Hiya! (smilieys go here) Meow! (='.'=)" thing.

And that McLaren is now gone. ;)
