They did much worse while talking on cell phones, although they were not dead drunk, Jamie was about as serious as he usually is... :p

I hear it makes you hit little girls on tricycles at drive-throughs...

I just watched that skit about 10 minutes ago.

Ah, imo, I find it bad. You may be more focused, but it still doesn't help you any, driving or not.

Carl.
Driving while on a high of any stimulant substances such as coke or speed would be insane though, that would most likely turn the driver in a raging maniac... the only worst case I could think of would be LSD or Heroin. :scared:

Driving on coke isn't that bad actually, because the concentration you do on driving takes away from your buzz, and the coke also helps you stay mentally aware of whats going on around you and more focused on your driving, as it is a mental stimulant.

Speed is a lil different, I found it too make you more awake and concentrated on driving, but the small amounts of visuals you get from it, and the urge to speed and/or give it from every stop sign/light makes it a lil worse then coke.

LSD has probably been the hardest to drive on for me, your brain is thinking of anything and everything except driving, and the strong visuals you get either turn things like stop signs into clowns, or make you pay more attention to the elephants running beside you then the stop sign up ahead. I once took 4 hits and had to drive from my friends to my house (about 5 km) in one of the worst blizzards of the year. If it hadn't been for my friend/co pilot and her "more sober" state, I most likely would have been dead.

Heroin is a lil different. Its not that you couldn't drive, but more like you don't want to drive. Unless your jones'n for more, and have non left, the high you get off heroin won't let you get up and drive, as 1. you know it'll kill your buzz, and 2. your too contempt sitting there on the floor thinking about how great you feel and how everythings perfect. Driving on it though is a lil tough, although your buzz goes away a bit, your actions are a bit slower, but you are less likely to speed since you really lack the urge.

Ecstacy, E or XTC is by far the worse to drive on, and i'm sad to admit, its what I have the most experience with. Since most E isn't even pure MDMA, but usually MDA, speed, DXM or something else, the highs are always different. Most do leave you with the inability to focus, LSD like visuals, slower or erratic muscle control (ie. wanna hit the brake, but slam the gas). Plus your talking more to your friends then concentrating on driving, and feeling the music more then the road.

These are just my personal experiences though, for more info you can check out http://www.erowid.org/
One of the greatest online resources for anything drug related, even perscription. 👍

If you must drive while on the cellphone, you should be using a hands free device. Pull over to dial, or use the re-dial button.

But driving while intoxicated is driving while intoxicated, no matter the substance causing the intoxication.

Neither is acceptably "safer" that either driver should be on the road.

AS for people high on pot being "violent", I had a bud that smoked a good bit of bud (Not to be confused with drinking Bud) that used to get in my face like he was some sort of hard-ass. I only outweighed him by about 60 lbs.
I never did kill him, but I did have to knock him down fairly often.

We all should do this to our friends, when they are about to get behind the wheel while intoxicated. :p

Yep, random roadside testing operates in my state.

Can someone tell me how long THC remains in the bloodstream? I'm worried about this "2-stage test" that involves a blood-test as stage 2 (provided you fail the tongu-strip test) because I think (and correct me if I'm wrong) that THC can remain in your bloodstream long after your high passes. I've heard upwards of 30 days to completely clear your system, and the average pot trip doesn't last more than 2-6 hours...

It's too subjective. People that smoke often can drive rather well when high, most times better than a sober driver (from what i've seen). People that occasionally smoke and choose to drive stoned are often fairly impaired, and their driving reflects their state. One things for sure, I would rather have a high driver than a drunk driver.

Around 2-3 days (some say longer, depending on the method used to test) to completely get out of your system. Since it is an inhalant (sp?) most of the THC in your system leaves quite quickly, meaning if they do find any in your system from a urine test 6 hours after you smoke it, it will only be trace amounts. Basically its the same as blowing under the legal limit if you were drinking and driving (hopefully, not sure of the law). Blood, hair, and other tests will be able to find trace amounts after a longer period of time (i've heard up to 30 days), which is why "cleanse kits" exist for those on probation.

But is there a test to see whether a person is high? Other than a blood test, I don't know of one...
What ND4SPD said, and a pee test. I had a friend that had to take one due to pot selling. But he past he cause cranberry juiced, and going to the bathroom cleans your system out, but your still HIGH! Altoids, and AXE can easly get rid of the smell, and eye droppers and clear a red eye, and all at that time you can be high! I'm a pro, kinda sad....

Personally, I've gotten in a pretty big fender bender while intoxicated (pretty embarrassing, as I never drink. :ouch: Which sort of led up to that. When you're in college and drunk at least once a month, you kind of recognize when you're too impaired to drive, so you don't. I wasn't anymore, so I did.

So my views on drunk driving are obviously... it's ****ty, stupid, and you shouldn't do it.

I know a lot of people who get high, and who drive while high and/or intoxicated. While accident rates are higher for driving while intoxicated, I don't think you should drive under either condition.

I tried driving a few blocks once under allergy medication (emergency, needed stuff for the baby, badly), and though I drove very carefully, because I knew I was impaired. Still, if some kid ran out in front of me, it would take me much longer to see and recognize the threat and brake to a stop. I'm never doing that again, either.

Driving while stoned? You may not be a danger to other people, but you're not going to be able to avoid danger as well as you could if you were fully aware of your surroundings.

Driving with any sort of impairment, sleep deprivation, the flu, benadryl, pot, alcohol, is not something you want to do in a country where everyone drives like they're half-stoned, half-drunk all the time. Heck, often have to tell my wife to stop talking to me while driving, because the amount of concentration you need when driving in the city here is migraine inducing.
