might as well join in, never have used an evo vii before, so trying one here. can pull a 1:39 but it's not clean, i can't seem to deal with the turn in speed and keep on scrapeing the inside rail.

managed a clean one, t1 scratches in at 27.963 t2 in 1.13.666 total time 1.39.325 there's a low 1.38 possible with this thing, dunno if i can pull it though.

edit.

Might as well throw down the part list

all the customizable parts sans vcd controller, yaw controller over cusomizable LSD

on to the engine racing muffler, sports computer, port polish and balancing

for the turbo I chose a stage one with a racing intercooler

I'm using lightweight stage one and no oil change, at 66 miles it's sitting pretty at 427 horsies and the incorrect torque rating of 55.0/4100.

I believe that your actual torque reading is approx. 385 lb/ft. I once read that the multiplier for torque was 6.8 or 6.9. Being lazy, I rounded up to 7.0. It makes the math easier to do in my head.
With that kind of torque, what are you driving that meets the displacement requirement?

evo VII, nothin does it like overboost;) .

edit: with a bit of tweaking for the downforce i managed to break into the 1:38 bracket, remembering how to use the brake and the gas at the same time instead of just letting off the gas seems to be helping.
t1: 27.890
t2: 1:13.542
total:1:38.862

To quote Arte Johnson from "Laugh-in": [bad german accent]Very Interesting[/bad german accent].
I shied away from the EVO for various reasons. It has the acceleration that would be advantageous, but it tends to pull to the outside of all turns due to the all wheel drive.

really? i'm having the opposite problem, i slam on the gas it slams into the inside of the turn. I can give you my setting if you want them.

Get on the gas with a little less glee, and your times will drop even more.
I may get a wild hair and try it a little later. I am currently fighting with my doctors, so my time may be limited.
Plus [heresy]I've gotten a little bored with GT3, waiting for the release of GT4, and the two new games that have come into the house[/heresy].
Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance II, and Hot Shots Golf 3.

well i clocked a 1'44"99
with a NA mx5
i think its still possible to shave off a second or 2 at this stage

I came across this in the archives.
Anyone interested in trying this for GT4?
Everything in the First post would apply.

Would be quite interesting, but youd have to edit a few things to suite GT4 👍

Actually, the only thing that is unclear is the tires, as the ratings don't match up to GT3 tire ratings.
So Change that to racing: Soft tires. (R4)

I'd still want to keep the displacement restriction in place. It'll keep out most of the "monster" cars that would produce way too much torque.
You'd still be able to run the Subies, and EVO's.
But any engine over 2500cc is too big.
You can find this info in the "sell" screen. Just be careful not to sell your intended car.

Yep, I'm definitely interested, I just need to re-read the entire thread (..it's been a long time). :)
How are you going to track people's entries?

This is more of an informational thing than a competition thing.
I realize that some competition will likely take place.
However, the point here is to take a car and build it up, keeping the power/weight ratio in the 3.0 range, and then going quickly around Cote.

Yes, I hope for honesty, but I won't be requiring replays, and such.
This is just a "relieve the boredom" opportunity. And an opportunity to help each other become better tuners and drivers.👍

As such be prepared to share your tunings with the group, especially if you happen to go really fast.:D
