I don't know about reverse, but stationary and going forward he's gotten them to light up pretty good surprisingly.
He hates that car though, so he usually does a brake stand by dumping the clutch. Tires spin and no moving.

Well i heard that you know sliding the car on a fwd is powersliding.... not drifting and anyways.. for the people against the public roads...
i do this on empty roads or roads that have like mostly 2 cars... and i never said 60 mph i said 60 kph.. huge difference.40 kph is what i do normally and if at that speed i even hit some obstacle it wouldnt cause much damage... unless its a foot path thats horrible for the suspension.. lol its a nightmare only real
and at this speed ur least likely to lose control...so the public things cool...
and that hitting the wheel against the footpath happened in my friends car... he was passing a lane at about 60 kph and he just suddenly got the urge to drift and he just pulled the handbrake... the rear right wheel went straight into the footpath... caused him like a 3000 dollar penalty... he was just trying to show offi was like cool... and the funny thing is.. even after that happened ... all he could think about was "dude im hungry lets go grab a pizza" and we went to pizza hut in that screwed car.. (did i mention the real wheel was tottally slanted) and the car was like driving sideways .. LOL then we went home parked the car and he was like **** it

thats where im impressed by the Honda City its balanced between over and understeer... and she drifts or powerslides(whatever im supposed to call it) like a beauty.. unlike another friends Yaris... ima upload a video of the powersliding on my car... not that dangerous...
OK so lets start with the AUP and posting issues shall we.
Your also triple posting which is not needed at all.
If your doing it on the public road then your breaking the law, and if your doing it when other cars are around then your an idiot. If your friend just pulled the handbrake on a public road at 60 then he's both.
I will make this quite clear, your future posts will follow the AUP or you will be leaving.

It might have helped if I told you the e-brake doesn't work for crap either.
Anyone with a decent grasp on driving dynamics can easily get ANY kind of car sideways at corner entry purely on weight transfer. I've done this in everything from a Tercel to a Chrysler Minivan, let alone cars that actually drive the rear wheels. And all without pulling the E-brake. Hell, in a semi controlled environment, I've done this on dry pavement with a Corolla and a Tercel.

Sideways is all relative to what the speaker wants to call sideways. You can get every car sideways with the right driver and conditions, you can't get every car to powerslide.

You do not have a say in the outcome anymore. You, your car, your passengers, any unfortunate bystanders, and your wallet all going to have their fates changed by a decision you made 3 seconds ago. You are done. Enjoy the ride, douche.

The only unfortunate bystander is a tree about 400 yards across a field where this takes place, on property containing an abandoned dirt road owned by him/the farm they rent from nonetheless.
I'm not the driver either, so I don't exactly condone the activities (and cannot control his actions) that are taking place and wouldn't attempt them myself unless I was on a closed course or in a safe environment. At least I get that. I understand exactly where you are coming from though 👍
Look, My question initially was whether the sliding damages my car or not. And you can not just judge me over a few posts. Im not a teenage driver with ego, I've been pulling of these stunts for the past 5 years in closed grounds where people normally come to learn how to drive. I've shifted from that place which is why I'm doing it on the roads. Okay yes it is illegal but my question was about the damage I'm causing with or without the sliding being done on a public road because thats my concern. And lets come to the part where i own the car. The whole of my town (its a big town) knows i own the car and no one has a problem with me pulling of these stunts. And why do you guys have to insult a person i mean dude just laugh it out, yeah im doing something stupid but bro its because my country doesnt provide us with tracks and all racers in Pakistan are street racers, and this includes ferraris and lambourginis going above 300 kph on public highways. And ask any one I know, People know my love for cars. These people range from friends upto teachers and parents. There is a difference between loving to drive and loving cars and thats what i tell wannabes, that you guys love driving but its me who loves cars. I mean do you think that each and every official racer learnt to drive and drove reckless at a legal age, well no not at all. Most of these people started racing as a kid. lets be over seas friends.Bro it depends on the car, Honda City is a light weight vehicle with not too thick tires, so its easy to get it sideways, and you cant keep a FWD sideways by using the handbrake . You have to get it to over steer using just the steering and at 30 to 40mph it should over steer as far as I know because mine does. Because if at that speed you pull the handbrake whats likely is that your cars either gonna do a 180 degree turn or will gradually stop sideways becuase you when you pull the handbrake your most likely to counter steer. To keep a FWD sideways you dont countersteer, you just steer in the direction you want to slide with a eeetsi weetsi little bit of countersteering just so you dont spin

Just a quick question, if you've been such a master of car control for this long why did you buy a fit when there are many cheap RWD cars on the market?
Ripping the side brake in public with the intent of getting the rears loose is idiotic, regardless of whether you believe the whole town is fine with it.
If that's what you think why don't you take a video of your antics to the police and see what they think?

The problem is that you aren't going hardcore enough. To really do it properly, you should be traveling well over 100km/h. Otherwise, what's the point?

This thread is relevant to my interests, now that I'm practising parking brake slides in my Sunbird. The huge front weight bias should make it easier, but on a public road it'd be idiotic to try (there is one place where it might not be, but whatever), and in other places I can't get up enough speed and it regains grip too quickly.

Don't be silly. Ofcourse it won't damage your Sunbird. Afterall, they were built as racing/stunt/macho/Starsky&Hutch cars! You just need aviators and a bright vest and you'll be able to time travel if it reaches 88mph. So If you not succed in powersliding and damage anything you can go back to before you thought of buying a Sunbird.

GM cars were actually built pretty tough. You can hate on them all you want, but they have one thing, and that's that they were built to take abuse. Bob Lutz details some of the standards in his book "Car Guys vs. Bean Counters".

That depends on what you consider tough. I think they rusted out way too easily personally. Your car is right about were cars started going down the pooper in my opinion.

Not always. Mine has some body rust in all the usual J-body areas, but most J-bodies around here don't rust much at all. Any rust on this car is slight surface rust from rock chips, or is the result of a bad paint job (the dealer really ruined this particular vehicle earlier in its lifespan - I'll probably have to replace the transmission earlier than I planned thanks to their incompetence).

bro the police watches me do this, this is Pakistan and in Pakistan you do not get cheap rwd cars, and if you do you have to pay duties which then costs more than the fit. I never cared of the damage back then because I was doing these stunts on a car worth like 2k dollars, even less. Plus I was too young to realize that drifting could cause damage. But this is not that cheap for me which is why i am concerned. And like I said, My question was about the damage and not of the illegal activity Im doing. And I'll say this once again, Where I drift is a place where there are empty plots by the roads and where there is no traffic no public whatsoever. And the only people that do come there are racers who come for racing and drifting.Not enough road for 100 kph and on that speed you pull the handbrake long before the turn which kills the tires more than it usually would. And being hardcore is not the problem, its the repair bill.
