:D :D Everyone might be able to watch me own live4speed :lol: on the Nurb.
 
I remember reading about that a little while ago...sounds interesting. It would be good to watch some of the tournaments that go down:D
 
Hell yes. When the real motorsport's not going down we can tune into GT4 races instead.

just hope that they won't instill a 10sec. penalty or sumthing when u touch an opponents car.. like in Prologue... a slight nudge with the car in front and u get penalised.... even when its the car in front that swerves into u, as long as he's slightly ahead, he gets away with it.... grrrr.....
 
Well the penalty system will indeed feature but hopefully it will be a bit more refined and useful than that.

We will finally see if cobra's driving skills are as sharp as its posts !

I just hope live conversation will not be mandatory 'cause if JohnBM01 speaks as much as he writes, we'll sleep in most of races...

Me and my crew will rule ya all:).

We just have to get to EC (but not before 2007., so see you sometimes around GT5), so that we can connect to online servers from our little country.

If the racing sucks worse than every last episode of "Full House" or "Family Matters," I'll just be in my room, hung by a noose.

But, maybe I think spectator mode will be a very interesting addition to the online play. Remember that I am not big on online play, but if I had nothing else to do, I might be able to watch a good race.

There is only one problem. I'm on dialup. That's right. No high-speed Internet here. How can I have broadband for PS2 if I can't have any for my comptuer? I'll need to upgrade to make it PERFORM. Either upgrade or get a better machine (meaning, NO eMachines! Also, no Apple (just wanted to p**s some people off)) :D

Anyhow, nice feature, interesting topic, hope it works swell.
 
This sounds like an ace idea, I would love to watch others race it would be like a new motorsport channel. I wonder if the Drifting will be included in the online portion of the game as drifting is sometimes done in tandem on track so imagine watching that at home learning from the masters on how to drift maybe.
 
This idea is both good and bad. Good. As suggested newbies will be able to learn more. Anyone could pick up on little tricks other drivers have. However it's bad for me as I constantly screw up. :banghead:

John - whilst the Network Adapter is necessary, broadband technically isn't. There's no way to check if someone has a broadband connection, at least not one that's implemented. I know this for a fact because I was having trouble upgrading my Action Replay MAX and so I connected my PS2 to my friend's LAN (he's a Linux guru and knew how to use network monitoring stuff better than I did) to give it a try. It successfully connected despite his dial-up connection. So, whilst it may be a bit laggy (which I doubt as American dial up beats Australian dial up simply because you're all closer to each other and major exchanges), you won't be prevented from watching or racing.

The primary focus is on the requirements for network play. I don't know how GT4 will fare, but for the most part, I don't know to be honest. My room is too junky, and I think we have copper wires, so high speed Internet is almost not going to happen.
 
I hope you'll be able to save replays from online races, both the ones you're in and the ones you spectate...

Yeah, I thought about doing that to bypass the limitation...All you really need is an Ethernet connection from your modem.

A spectate mode sounds awesome. It means we'll get to watch some of the OLR heavyweight people live and direct. :D
 
I hope it's true because I haven't seen other sites mention the feature, then again, ign said KY confirmed ferrari and porsche wouldn't be in, but I'm yet to see anyone else say that.
 
Yea Spectator mode would be awesome, but who wants to watch when you could race! :lol: well anyways I think it would be awesome specially if theres nothing on tv and theres absolutly nothing to do... Then maybe yea....

But yea IGN and KY both said that the mode is in and that certain car makers wont be in, so I think i'll belive them ;) well I can't wait to race some of you online, will be fun..

The Spectator mode already exists in GT3's iLink mode where it is absolutely great (in the U.S. it's called 'Broadcast' mode and in the UK 'Live'). You can control the camera to any replay position you fancy. We use it to make recordings of our iLink races. This feature will be awesome, it would also allow for judges to monitor an online race. :D

According to your signature, Code_kev, I thought you already owned CobraGT... By the way, only John boy is like Pizza Hut when it comes to the Toyota GT-One. I know how to bring out the good stuff. That GT-One is a wicked lady in red. When a car is red, it means its angry. About as angry as this freaking epsiode of "Barney and Friends" (yeah, I know. I have no life). But I'm not here to start trouble. I know better. Anyhow, it would be interesting to make the spectator mode more like a TV broadcast than a regular GT race.

It would be weird if a lot of GTPlanet racers took on other GT clubs, so we can take them out and win it all. Or who knows? Let's see what would make great matchups:

Code_kev vs. CobraGT
Kikkoman vs. Motorer
McLaren'sAngel vs. Pimp Racer (my girl vs. my boy)

There would be others, even if all six of them were to compete at once. Anyhow... oh, God. Barney's starting up his "I love you... you love me..." song. That's it! Where's my 20-gauge?
 
Seriously, we must all have a big GTP race, win or lose, it will be fun :)

:lol: you guys are crazy... well we could have a GTP tournament, and have certain people be judges and so that people wont lie and cheat and whatever... well I think it would be neat. Also raceing against other members of other forums would be awesome.. but I belive once GT4 is out we should open up another section just for GT4 online and post challenges, keep track of times, wins/ loses and only people who have a certain number of posts could enter it, because we wont want any newbs coming in and filling up that section with worthless junk and makeing the same threads over and over.. etc... well you all get the picture...

When I get gt4, I wont go online to race, I'll go online to get my name but nothing more. My first car to race online will be the Supra :) What about you code, what'll be your first car to race online?
 
My first cheapy crappy car, but if it's in arcade mode, i'll use the zonda or something :)
