Does anyone except me think that a reset button would be a great idea for the test or practise mode in the next gt. I mean in races ofcourse not but when I am out just trying out new stuff.. drifting or what ever it gets really anoying having to get back on track because the car goes so slow with the gears set up for drifting. I think it would be great that as soon as I start sliding off or start spinning i hit the reset button and am back into it. I really think it would be great for the free mod... but during races I think it would be just stupid.

Ideas?

you obviously miss the point. The whole idea is to use it to learn to drive.
Well then, no again. A lot of people who enjoy the GT game series already know how to drive. Besides, GT4p was created for the newcomers to the game series to learn how to properly drive the cars.

I'm curious as to what gear settings you use for drifting that would make the car have slow acceleration. Am I missing something? Examples of your settings are most welcome. :)

the best way to learn to drive is to learn to pull yourself out of a potentially bad situation.

as far as i'm concerned, even if GT did have a reset button i wouldn't use it and if i ever saw anyone use it i would call him/her a pansy

I'm pretty much used to getting my self back on the track....actually its a rare situation for me during racing.....as for drifting , I think its more realistic to drive back onto the track incase you have drivin off the run off areas..

I cant imagin to see the car suddenly gettin back onto the track with a push of a botton ..IN A GT GAME!! ....it would make me feel like I'm drivin a nfs type of game!! :dunce:

Scrapping the barrel for suggestions a bit here aren't we?!?

This option would suck almost as much as a button that instantly put you into 1st place whenever you crashed!!

I could use of those from time to time

Many people seem to be against this idea, but it would come in handy when you are pusing your limits during a hot lap and you make a large mistake rendering the lap useless. If the lap isn't too bad i would just continue racing but sometimes there's really no reason to continue. I'm sure even some of the best racers have botched a lap pushing the car and themselves to the limit.

Well there's a reset button... Look for it on the front panel of your PS2. :dopey:

Just kidding :)

Screwing up is a part of racing. You try to avoid it but sometimes... (sh)it happens... And then you suffer the consequences.

BTW, you seem to be new around here... Welcome 👍

I could see the benefit of having somthing that would reset the test back 5 or 10 seconds before you went off or made a mistake. It used to really annoy me when doing long lience tests and at the last lap I would make a small mistake and fail.....despite my clean drive up until that point! Same with Prologue...you can do the test fine then suddenly at the last minute the other car your overtaking would hit you and FAIL!!!

Sounds like a good idea to me, whenever the screen shows up F-A-I-L in huge letters i just want to punch the damn screen (sometimes i do but thats not the point)....but a reset button would be too unrealistic...(ok as is turning back time but it's a decent alternative to the other...)

See I don't think that would be a bad idea, for practice of cource. When I was really learning to drive and was getting my settings perfect ( mainly suspension) I would have used the reset button alot. Oh well maybe I'm wrong all Im saying is that for new users to the game It would be nice, I know I would have liked it when I was playing for the first time.

A reset button that "turns back time" would be a mistake, but a reset button you could quickly access after a failed liscense test or botched lap would be a nice addition.

Do real drivers get reset buttons? No.

So, if you want to be a real driver, you don't get a reset button. If you want to be a ***** drifting noob who doesn't have the slightest idea of intelligent driving, real or virtual, then you can have your ***** button.

Question Viper Zero. I don't post much here at GTPlanet, but I've been a member for about 2 yrs now I do believe. I come here everyday just about to see if theres any new info on gt4. I would like to know, can you drift? If not, then why are you talking **** about a form of racing that you can't do? It takes a lot of skill and practice to learn how to race this form of racing.

Sorry, dude. It's not racing.

Drifting is a performance for spectators.

Drifting plays a vital part in Racing, and i'm not talking about the D1 crap, nor am i refering to the rush of initial D Drifters, i'm refering to outright fastest cornering techniques, and one of these techniques is to enter a corner with an overly tight line, then nearing the end of the corner, force your rear tires to lose traction and then regain that traction at a better exit line, usually between 6in and 2ft of movement.

it allows you to take a better, faster line on tight corners and hairpins, and its refered to as Drifting!
