Pre-Race Music???

What the heck was someone thinking putting that little kid song in the pre-race menu? It's the most annoying song in the whole world, you cannot turn it off, and it makes me always rush into the race because I hate it so much. I really think some jerk tried to find the stupidest most irritating thing on earth to make you listen to over and over and over..... If they patch ANYTHING else, I would wish it to be to turn this @#*$%& song off!!!
 
That "little kid song" sounds like something from Little Big Planet. Even my kid said it reminded her of that game so I'm not the only one.
 
The first thing I do in every racing game I play is turn all the music off. I'd rather listen to my iTunes playlists instead of soft piano jazz while racing.
 
I'm glad to find out that somebody else agrees with me on this! It's horrible; I am compelled to mute my TV every time it plays.

We need songs like this back:

I actually don't mind it but it does seem inappropriate..

what is the name of it, I can't find it in the list of songs to turn on or off?

The good thing is you can add your favorite songs to race or listen to in the background...


Can someone tell me the name of the song the OP is referencing too, I looked for it also to change the setting in the music menu..
 
You can't turn it off. And you can only use your own music while racing. Not during slideshow, menus, or online racing.

You can turn it off.

In the GT Life home page, click the Music Library icon (circle with the music note on it) and from there you can turn on/off any songs in GT5.

Unfortunately, I don't know the name of that one song so you'll need to listen to the tracks to ID it.

Once you've ID'd the song, put the cursor on it and hit the triangle button, scroll down to either Race, Menu (it's likely a menu song) or Slideshow to turn it off.
 
Well,I agree.
The song is waaaaaaay more suitable for LBP than it is for GT5.
I would rather listen to the menu music more specificly The Spirit Of GT.

The songs you personally choose do not affect a few menus, the one they're talking about being one of them. I have classical music only for all menus and no music at all during races and I still hear this song before races. Things like the tuning shop and some other submenus do not allow you to control what is played.
 
Pretty sure the song you're talking about is a cover of a Pnau song. Or maybe they just sampled it.

In any case, the original is a really good song. The cover not QUITE so much, but it is VERY annoying that its always the same 2 songs in the pre-race menus.

Annoys me a lot also and I happen to like both songs!
 
I'm not ashamed to admit that I like the song, and often find myself singing along to it, then again I thought the Little Big Planet soundtrack was brilliant too.

Aw I couldn't agree more its pathetic. I've spent ages trying all the songs trying to find it so I could turn it off only to find out from you that you cannot.
It's shocking.
 
The "annoying" song in question is Pnau - Baby (Breakbot Remix) and no, you cannot turn it off since it's not in the Music Library.

I'm addicted to it personally, your only hope is to set Menu Music Volume to 0.

I don't know what you guys are talking about here. I haven't been annoyed enough at the song to remember it.

One thing I do love though is that GT have stuck by their guns with the jazz on the menus. i love it, it just feels like gran turismo.

Its only one song in particular we mean, the one that has like a choir of children singing in it.
