I really really can't see how this is problem... How come the F word has such enourmous impact on kids that it'll ruin there life ?..

If a driver spins out or his engine blows or any such things happens, why isn't he allowed to scream "This 🤬 piece of 🤬 🤬 🤬 machinery 🤬 sucks !!1!!1111!! " ?... I know what my outburst would sound like if I decide to lay the bike down one day - It won't be pretty - So from where I see it, it's being human...

I've never heard of anyone whistling quietly to himself while their F1 car is airborne upside down..

It was quite a surprise because there's usually a delay on the Team Radios. Still, it's not worth getting worked up about: these are the perils of live TV, and you cause more damage by bringing attention to it than you do if you just let it slide.

I was surprised that neither Martin Brundle nor that feckless mop haired incompetent blustering buffoon James Allen fired off a quick apology though.

And not a lot of people know that's his full real name.

It was a great race and it bodes well for the rest of the season. It will be interesting to see if Ferrari were just gaining an advantage due to the fact they were one of the few teams who tested in Bahrain prior to the race.

Jenson might have had more to say in the race if his race had started the same time as everyone elses did! 9tho of the grid and squabbling with Rubens must have held him up somewhat. It was interesting to see just how much later he could brake into the first corner when he went past JPM twice.

Yeah, but they're likely not swearing either...they're just going "AAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH...!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

That said, though, I totally sympathize with Giancarlo...the poor lad got shafted out of a finish.

Actually at the time, Martin Brundle said how uncharacteristic that was of F1 drivers. He said that someone like Kimi, MS or Alonso would never talk like that to their mechanics. It wont solve the problem, or help him go faster. He said he was quite dissapointed in Fisi.

Thinking about it, a driver shouldn't say anything bad to his mechanics. They bust their asses for their drivers. Though if it is the driver's fault a mistake happened or someone else punted them off the track, I say all swear filters are off!

feckless mop haired incompetent blustering buffoon James Allen did briefly apologise, but regarding Martin Brundle's comment on someone like Alonso, Schumacher etc not saying things like that, I've noticed that Alonso is a great fan of the "I'm gonna wave my hand at you when I want past and you don't move out of the way quick enough because there aren't any blue flags being waved" kind of mentality. Waving doesn't get you anywhere, because the driver in front is hardly likely to see you waving your hand 4 inches out of your cockpit when he's too busy to look in his shaky, tiny mirrors and even if the trackside marshals see the driver gesticulating they can't exactly wave the flags at that post, so they could either radio ahead to another post or just ignore it. It doesn't really get them anywhere.

Very good point about Alonso waving at the people in front of him. Does he have any idea how much drag his hand makes when he does that?

And what was the deal with the shaking mirrors on the Renault cars? I saw this multiple times when they went to the Renault car cam. It looked like to me the mirrors were bobbing up and down.

Best I can guess is that Alonso was alerting the track workers to be ready with the blue flag next time around. Or he was just being stupid and shaking his fist at the driver in front of him, who surely could not see it.

He was waving the marshalls to blue-flag the next lap. But yeah, renault's mirrors kept bobbing up and down. Super-vibrations + wind resistance, I guess.

Did anyone see when Nico got out of his car? Did he **** himself during the race or something? I thought it was dust/dirt, but I really don't know at this point. My mom was hysterical when she saw it. Haha.

Did you guys hear that Cosworth just explode as Nico exited the pits? That was some way-cool stuff.

Well, waving and expecting that marshal's post to blue flag him next time round is laughable. The marhsal's are generally fairly switched on and if the car in front passes a cartain number of blue flags (I believe it's 3) without moving over, they get a penalty, so the chances of Alonso being behind the traffic on the next lap is very low.

Alonso doesn't seem to have a lot of patience with backmarkers or his teammate for that matter, remember Canada 2005?

"WHAT ELSE DO I HAVE TO DO?!?!?!" <- how about try passing him just like everyone else.

Neither does flipping the bird when someone takes you out in the Monaco tunnel work very well, but hell, Schumacher still did it.

Wasn't that Alonso too?

edit: Alonso definitely did it in 2004 after he went offline trying to pass Ralf Schumacher in the tunnel and crashed. Just re-watched that part of the race.

Ooo, you tape all of them? Nice. 👍

Not all of them (I think I have all but one from 2004, but I only have about 6 or 7 from 2005). I'm going to try to get them all from this year, qualifying and the race. I also don't have many from the past, sadly.

I'm not really defending Alonso, just highlighting that he's not the only driver to do pointless acts of agression.

A VCR would come in handy this weekend. It'll be pretty hard for me to wake up 4AM on sunday.

Watch a NASCAR race. They all show pointless acts of aggression during the race (and sometimes get in fist-fights afterwards). All of those left-turns must damage the right half of their brains.

Well, you said Schumacher did it, but I don't remember him doing it.
