I love how you included the “No reproduction without permission” bit.

Pitty none of the big players showed their cards.

Heh Super Aguri wern't as far off the pace as I was expecting. 👍

The big 'uns will show up in 2nd practice me thinks.
;)

I went into formula1.com today and got there permission ;) (you used to do it all the time, its sooooo much easier)

Raikkonen, MS Montoya etc only came out in the last minute as usual. I havent been doing my research properly, why are there so many cars in these prac sessions? I'm assuming its like a free test at every round, at least thats what I thought I heard...

(PS sorry about the other thread guys, I feel like a bloody noob  )

The top 4 teams aren’t allowed a 3rd driver in friday sessions. Everybody else is. Hence, 7 teams are allowed to use 3 drivers (only 6 have, I believe), meaning 28 drivers take part in the session. :)

yea it was all good for me... I thought I might have to subscribe to it again for the new season but it just asked 4 my email and password, then away she went

I think that a court is likely to rule that the data is subject to Fair Use. It's a matter of Public Record really.

On the practice itself, I was interested that F1 novice Kubica was quicker in the BMW Sauber than Wurz was in the Williams.

[EDIT] Live timing is working for me.

I have to say I'm hoping for Ferraris to come from behind and take the pot.
All the attention has been going towards Renault, Honda and McLaren and practically no attention has been given to Ferrari. No one knows how fast Ferrari will be, unlike Renault and Honda and McLaren, so no one can really say "Ferrari is out".
I know McLaren will propably be fast, but is the engine reliable? Will it last a full scale race weekend? I know you won't like me, but I say it still: I hope Mercedes' V8 would suck as much as possible. I don't like Kimi, I don't like JPM. I don't like McLaren.

Forza Ferrari!

I was a bit preamature with the live timing.

So far Alonso, Raikkonen and Davidson are flying.

Button just came out on track, so we'll see how he does.

Is live timing working for anyone else?
Yep, but they made me reset my password. Bastards. I liked my old one.

Alonso takes first on second lap. Excellent.

Don't you just love that surname? :sly: So no surprises as to who is on the pace then. How long of the session is left?

EDIT: Kensei, could you perhaps please rename the thread "Bahrain '06" or something seeing as we are using it for the whole race weekend it appears. :)

Uh oh. Yellow flags are out and Kimi has stopped in the first sector. I wonder what could be wrong....

It was smoking on the long strait and just stopped. Done.

 It's just gonna be one of those years...

Kimi grenaded already?! Son of a...

I was hoping things would change this year, looks like my hopes are lying with Williams then. Aussie, Aussie, Aussie....I feel like a fan boi.

Oh god.. another one of those years for McMerc....

Saying that, considering SAR have been put together in 4 months, 1 second off Midland isn't too bad..

Omnis
One of the mcMerc's will blow. They just lurv that hot bahrain sun. "Grenate!"

Good call! 👍 Now I just want them to do it again in the race. :trouble:

Not an engine, fortunately (or yet :scared:).

PlanetF1
Kimi Raikkonen: "We didn't do too much in the first session, and then this afternoon we were carrying out Michelin tyre comparisons. Unfortunately I stopped on track due to a suspected electrical problem towards the end of the last session, which meant that we did not manage to complete our programme, so we will have to wait and see where we are tomorrow."

Finally F1 is back! :D

But this also means I'll have to wake up early on Sunday. :(

No predictions from me since I haven't been following the pre season tests much, I just hope Massa gets a good start at Ferrari and that we can see some good fights on the road!

Kimi has mechanical problems....and JPM needs and engine change....gee surprise there. Let's hope Kimi gets a REALY car for '07, you know the red Italian one.

It's going to be a good 3 way fight this seaosn between MS, Alonso and Kimi. Unfortuanately I can't see Kimi finishing half of the races this year.

Toro Rossa will get their V10s spanked down more, especially since Liuzzi was running in the top 3 most of the 2nd session....a Minardi/RB1 shouldn't be doing that.

I'm surprised how far off the pace Toyota is....hmmm.

MAssa shocked me by doing as well as he did.

Honda shocked me by doing as bad as they did.

McMerc is SOOOOOOOOOO screwed this season, especially since they no longer have the 3rd car on Fridays. Toyota will be hurting too due to the lack of Zonta pounding out laps. Honda will benefit for Ant doing laps though!

Williams looked good. I'm shocked I care but I am happy to see them doing well.

BMW looked like crap...

MF1...great looking livery...lame Jordon crap car....boring Russian owner...Yawn!

RBR...DC and Klien....still out there, doing OK.

Scott Speed....American in F1...yawn....he ain't nothin...Nico will take all the press anyway, even if Speed could drive.

So great to see the cars on track again.

Well, their V8 does look good though, by looking at the top speeds, and Kubica's lap time from the first session would have placed him 4th in the second one.

Villeneuve had the "most lap were affected by yellow flags" excuse for his position... I guess we'll see tomorrow.

Carl.

3rd drivers SHOULD be faster than everyone else, by ALOT....it's not a real comparison.

Sure, but I expected BMW to do much worse than that at the start of the season, 4th best time of the day isn't that bad, even for a 3rd driver. Of the regular drivers, only MS was faster.
