Predictions for Sunday??

here's my predictions for the top ten:

1-Michael
2-Ralf
3-Barrichello
4-Kimi
5-Trulli
6-Frentzen
7-Button
8-Heidfeld
9-JV
10-Webber

Montoya crashes out
DC blowing the motor

what does everyone else think is gonna happen??

And as i haven't had much time to read about the new cars i don't know what else to put.

My hopes:

Predictions, eh? Hmmmmmm.

I actually think that Webber will have a good race, finishing somewhere between 8th and 12th. As for the race win, well, who else but Michael?

Jaun PM will finish second, Rubens 3rd, Ralf 4th and David Coulthard 5th.

We shall see, eh?

Friday's times will give the best guide - the interesting thing will be to see where the reliability issues are - the Jags are quick but appear to be fragile, the Minardis are an unknown factor, Williams seem to be struggling and the McLarens look very quick (but weren't they last year?). We should see the field bunch up, but I still think the Ferraris, McLarens and Williams will dominate (pretty much in that order.

There are showers predicted for Saturday, so qualifying could be hilarious....., er, interesting.
 
Perhaps Webber might be able to guide the Jag (fragile as they are, damn reliability issues! :mad: ) home to a safe place on the grid, then work his way up into a point scoring position. That'd be nice to see.

Dunno - the car (based on testing) seems to be plenty quick, and I think the Friday test will be good for them - especially Pizziona. They've had some issues in testing.

I always think of Brazil '89 when reliability's an issue.
 
Yeah - Ferrari ran the car with a new V12 (remember it was the first year after the turbos were banned) and the first F1 semi-automatic gearbox - and they'd more problems in testing than an exam-obsessed mathematics professor - in fact prior to Brazil it hadn't completed a race distance without blowing up!
 
though i've not kept up i will make predictions. 1. 3-5 cars will fail, at least 2 from engine or mechanical failure. 2. Renault will outperform Sauber overall. 3. BAR will be one of the dnfs. 4. Montoya will finish ahead of Ralf. 5. And last Jaguar will have at least one car finish in the top 15 and, although my psychic power is not sure of this, I will say that top 15 will not be because of attrition.

Tomorrow afternoon will reveal a lot.

My guess on the team performance order:
Ferrari
McLaren
Williams
Sauber
Renault
Jaguar
Toyota
Jordan
BAR
Minardi

BAR appear to be in big trouble - the car wasn't quick out of the box, and has proven troublesome in testing. Jordan have been sporadically quick in testing, but given their funding problems I can't believe they'll set the world on fire this year. The big unknowns are Renault, Jaguar and Toyota - they've all tested pretty well, and they'll be on a par. I think Sauber will be brilliant this year - engine and rear end from last year's Ferrari aren't a bad place to start!
 
I think that Mclaren is going to do better than anyone expects. I also think Kimmi Raikonnen is going to dominate.

If not this year, then next year. But mark my words, Kimmi Raikonnen will be one of the best of all time.

Depends on the car. He does look very promising.

I was a huge fan of the other taciturn McLaren driving blonde Finn, so Kimi's pretty well just slotted right on in there - I really hope he's as good as everyone thinks he's going to be.
 
I wonder how Christiana De Mata (How ever you spell it) will do - Montoya did well coming from Indy Lights to F1 and was quite competitive not to mention a little to agressive.

I hope this years season won't be as boring as the lasts seaon with Shu' winning anything on offer.

Same here, but I think the likely hood of that happening is pretty slim.

Why would I weep?

I thought the same myself, although I can't wait to see Mclarens new car.

Yes he did - I did have a bit of a laugh at that.

ALPHA - I think you'll find Montoya was in fact the 1999 ChampCar champion.
