I can't see any good reason why manufacturers would stop making manual trannies because they're cheap as the proverbial mom. They also easy (relatively) and cheap to work on, like, err...
 
Well, if I get a 100 on my next test, we're all screwed and will die.
On the other hand, I think that Satan's waiting an extra 3 months, just to surprise us.
 
Falafel is really, REALLY good.
Oh, and I predict that falafel and pizza and pasta and... all food will be totally free! :drool:

Well, I should’ve added “in America” to what I said. In Europe, I can imagine manuals living for a long time to come, but by 2026, I predict that fewer than 5% of cars in America will come with a clutch pedal. It’s already down to 10%, and it’ll only go down while CVTs and DSGs are improved upon.
 
Ten percent of the cars bought may have sticks, but they are available on many more cars then that. That just demonstrates and supports the fact that the average american is a fat, lazy bastard. But if I had to choose a tranny without a clutch pedal I'd rather have a DSG, SMG, CVT, STD, whatever than a gay hydromechanical automatic. At least a few of them have sporty manual modes that actually rev-match and don't shift for you if you rev it too high. I think in the future those trannies will more commonly have manu-matic features, even in cars where you'd rather just loaf along in auto mode, like a Bentley or something.
 
There will be a huge gas crunch because of our dependence on oil and we'll all be forced to drive eco-weenie cars like hybrids, Ferrari will resort to making a 100hp V2 Enzo, and there'll be no more human interaction with cars, we'll just lay back and relax while the eco-weenie cars drive for us.
 
I thought we'd all be dead from the Anti-Christ...Oh wait, that's a myth like Y2K.

Cars will be cars, but more sanitised and less exciting/stylish/powerful. More people, less space, everything will be more expensive.
We'll still hate our respective leaders, Microsoft will co-govern its' own country with Walmart, and GT5 will just be coming out...

2026:

#1: Anti-christ will be here by then, the rapture of the church occurs, and the world is demolished.

#2: We will be driving cars on hydrogen, and they will be as luxurious as a Mercedes. We will live in the same houses, most computers will have 16MB of RAM, a 10 GHz processor, and a 40" screen. With neon flashing lights. The PS8 will have an operating system made by Google, and will replace half the PCs out there. There will be robots, many of them serving us, may of them rebelling, and people will turn into robots (by putting computer chips in their ears, brains, muscles, etc). We will be on the brink of WWIII, with Russia, the Middle East, and China going against Europe and America, and Japan.

I have a prediction......nano-technology which I know can be possible ( I think) will be used in automotive parts. When a crash occurs the nano-technology in the car will enable the car to repair itself. Fuel will come in the way of oxygen and wind. Wind is sucked in the front of the car, generating power to the car that has an electrical power equivilant to about 500HP. Navigation systems will be advanced to the point where the windshield will have an inbeded LCD seethrough screen that will show up a display on where you need to go, and how to get there. Also, wifi connections with your car and home and even work will be seamless. On the road you'll see cars that are full on adds, moving pictures. This will be possible by the screen that is paper thin, flexible and plastic....yet as clear as an HDTV. I've seen this technology on the Science channel's "Beyond Tomorow" program...on that show they even spoke of that same tech being used in contact lenses so for example when tourist go to a city, a map will show up for them or a sort of head's up display will come up showing them info on the surrounding areas.... well thats my prediction....
