Prefer Drifting to Left or Right?

I was doing some drifting on that long-ish corner on the backside of R246, and came to a conclusion about my drifting.
I'm more at ease drifting to the left, as opposed to the right.

I noticed that doing that corner as a left, I was more calm in general, and did less midcorner correction to keep my line.
Dont get me wrong, i could drift it both directions just fine, and hold the drift for the duration of corner both ways, it was just less effort for me as a left.
This just didnt make a lot of sense to me, because its a constant radius corner with no surface or elevation changes, i was approaching it on similar lines between 70-80mph in both directions, and was carrying approximately the same drift angle through both ways (just a bit smoother going left).

I think the reason might be because I do a lot more drifting on Apricot Hill, Midfield II, and Trial Mtn. than anywhere else, and they offer more long duration lefts than rights. Or because the view of the corner is less obstructed in this direction (no guages and lap timers in the way). I havent really noticed this about myself on shorter, tighter corners, just the long drawn out ones.

Anyways, i was wondering if anyone else felt this way about one direction or the other, or if I was all alone in this again.

...its probably just me (I think I'm already having visions of Swift's post, and it will inevitably say "more practice" :p )

Everyone has their personal preferences on which turns they like or seem to handle better then others, although they don't start threads about them. ;0)

Yeah yeah, practice will ease this feeling in time... maybe not... who knows! /shrug

An apex is an apex...

ya ya, I know this falls in the dumb thread category, i was thinking that when i wrote it :dopey:
but i was curious and wanted to know
and since nothing obvious came up with the search, heres the thread

when i drift in real life, i tend to be more comfortable drifting to the left, although i have been practicing with the right turn. i think this is a fine thread. if no one ever started a thread, and everyone just used the search botton, would there even be a forum?

Just a little thing to think about...

I think the reason i am more comfortable drifting to the left is that when i started drifting, most of the courses i drifted in went in a counter-clockwise direction...
So you generally come across more corners that curved to the left...
And as you develop your skills drifting in these left-curving biased courses, you'll generally have more practice drifting to your left and therefore be more comfortable drifting to the left. But that's just an opinion.
Just a thought 👍

i dont really prefer on which side i like to drift because any corner the track throws at me, i'll enjoy it. now if its the matter of getting faster lap times, i memorize every angle to maximize corner speed, it still both. <==(doesnt really relate, but its just to let you know)

FI, that makes perfect sense.

In real life, I prefer to drift to my left as wellm, probably cause if I lost control, the drivers side would not be hit... most likely anyhow.

In the game, what FI says makes sense, though I haven't noticed a real prefernce, probably cause its a controller, and not a wheel with a 5 speed shifter, and having me placed more the left than center.

Yeah FI has a good point. If you go on a track that has alot of left turns just do a 180 and go the other direction  HAHA that way you get more practice with left and right. :)

both ways is pretty much the same to me, but in real life, im more comfortable drifting to the right, b/c i can see out the drivers side window, to see how much room i have
