Which of this 2 accesorys is most popular in GT5 Prolog?

I like the ps3 wireless keypad but also use the eye-cam's built-in microphone for online chats. I don't have a bluetooth headset

You cant use a headset in GT5:P yet. Online racing doesnt support it. Personally I only send PSN messages at the end of races with my controller. I use the GTPlanet chat to talk to people 👍

Well, I don't use it myself, as I don't have a PS3 just yet so no GT5P. But I been in there, even though its only for race chats.

It's quite simple, go to the link and wait till it loads (can take some time), then your in! In the bottom of the window, you have a place where you can type what you want to say to the others in the chat. On the right you can see who is online in the chat room.

I don't know if you can get access the chat with your PS3.

EDIT: you can read more about it here: https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/showpost.php?p=3179671&postcount=1

During the game.. None are supported.. I hope, and I know FULL game will have the support of at least a MIC.

But yeah, I prefer the MIC over the little keyboard, but the keyboard is great too. But would be a hastle to TYPE in while in race.. So mic is a win.

I went with the headset. Although I own both accessories and use neither, I think that voice communications are the most essential part of any game/gaming community; something which I believe Sony has dropped the ball on, big time. The second they removed voice chat from public spaces in Home was the day that software became irrelavant. I really hope GT5 picks up some chat features soon, even if it's just briefly before the race.

For voice communication I prefer my Logitech Digital Precision Pro USB headset and for text I prefer my Logitech G11 keyboard.

I've got poor hearing and big ears and find that the official Sony Bluetooth Mic isn't loud enough and sits WAY too far away from my face. As far as the mini-keyboard I also bought to try out... what a waste of money.

Honestly, I have really big hands/fingers but I still manage to use my HTC S720 WinMo Smartphone just fine and its QWERTY keyboard is actually smaller and more tightly spaced than the official Sony keypad. The Sony thing clips on at such a weird and uncomfortable height, I'd rather just click text with the d-pad and x button. The 'mouse' function is absolutely worthless as well.

But, since there's no cross-game or in-game voice chat support for GT5p, you're only choice is to battle it out with the keypad or do it right and hook up a keyboard.

I voted for the wireless keypad - I really like the functionality of this new device although I don't think it's compatible with GT5 P yet. However it is good for use with other games such as LBP and Home.

I can't believe people are still in the dark(actually deaf, I guess)!:nervous:

There's been PC voice programs around for years, just for the purpose of filling the need for communication in games that don't support it.👍

With wireless, like bluetooth, there are no excuses left!:dunce:... unless you just don't have a PC.:ouch:

I was given this as a Christmas gift from my teenage boys last year ,it's awesome as it just attachés to the controller..can be a little fiddly though

For GT5P online racing neither of the two can't be use to comunicate with other online drivers. That was the reason I'm looking alternatives to improve the comunication with other drivers.

Any other idea on how you can comunicate faster online? Currently I use the Dualshock3 and is tedious and slow.

There is simply no replacement for using Teamspeak. NONE. But we also use our comment box on the XMB to let the guys that aren't using when we're starting racing. It's quick and easy plus it lets everybody on your friends list know at the exact same time when you're going.

Like my friend Forgetful said, I can't believe you GTP guys aren't using Teamspeak or some other form of VoIP like Ventrillo. The chat system you guys have set up is a novel idea but I'm not so hot a typing while I drive and I doubt that anyone else here is either. Serious guys, if you've got the computer to log on here and post then you have the ability to be speaking with your fellow competitors. As it sits now we're seeing alot more of names flying the GTP tag on our Teamspeak server and I would doubt that we'll see that trend change as word gets out among your members.

Here's the typical list of reasons given not to get on Teamspeak:

1) My computer is too far away from my PS3 - LOL, Bluetooth, Bluetooth, Bluetooth

2) I'm no computer whiz and won't be able to get it set up - Nice try, it's as easy as it gets.

3) Many of my friends aren't using the system - They will be once you pass along the word of how much it opens up the game.

4) I don't need it - Yes, yes you do. This one little tool has kicked open so many doors for us. It's given us the ability to organize events weekly and our numbers are growing constantly.

No offense to you GTPers, I have much respect for you guys and some of my favorite guys to race with are flying your tag, but you guys really REALLY need to get up to speed. You're truly missing out.

Jayz606:

Can you mention all the necesary steps to be able to use teamspeak, including the necesary equipment. Thanks for your time! Remember my friend, not all of us speak english, try not to use rare words. Thanks again!
