Here is what I'm thinking:
You keep your cars and credits
but have a the chance to reset your career
Everything back to day one like you just put the game in for the first time.
You get to win the prize cars, special and lvl tickets again
Just to be clear you keep your garage.

Thoughts ideas

Very easy to get loads of level tickets and Lupo cup cars... Won't happen.

But you can try Gran Turismo 4

Sorry, but I can't get the value of your idea.

After finishing all the events (without the 24h enduros) of offline-career nothing is making me to redo them. I mean, I've allready done then, so where is the challenge?

Additionally with a proper filled garage and wallet there will be the absence of thrill to earn the right car for an event to be carried out. So it would become even more the question to voluntarily limit myself to a wise choice of a not overpowered car.

So, for me after completing the offline mode, the only thing that still attracts me is online.

What's the point? You can either do them again on your existing account, in order, nothing is stopping you, or you can create another account on your PS3, and do it that way.

:grumpy:

That's just a Call Of Duty levelling system......

Why not open up A-Spec levels to 100 or something ? That would be a crazy amount of XP.

And i'd imagine alot of people would try to achieve it.

👍

I like this idea. It would not be mandatory obviously, but it could show your commitment to gt5.

To make prestige a little harder out could lock cars that are too high of a level. This is all very COD like,... But I do like cod anyways!

The big problem with this is that the early competitions would be no, well, competition. You'd have a selection of cars that could walk them without you breaking a sweat.

So to make it worth doing, they'd have to up the difficulty of all the competitions. But if they were going to do that, why not just add another tier of races, with new prizes?

Or maybe have some system of adding a new competion, with different prizes, on a regular basis? You could deliver them over the internet have them expiring, like they were parts of a season or something. You could call these Events that are Seasonal "Competitions That Are Here For A While But Go Away Again Quite Soon, But Have Differnet Prizes And Stuff(tm)" or "CTAHFAWBGAAQSBHDPAS(tm)" for short...

You're on to something there, PD make it happen... wait a minute!!

The only thing that could make this work would be if there were PP and tyre limits on A-spec races afterwards, giving a challenge.

Just so pepole have something to do in GT5, obviously.

There is always something to do in GT5.
just take a less powerfullcar and try winning the races again.

no need for any prestige mode or something.

And if you want the world to know how good you are, like the prestige mode in COD (but that just shos how much spare time you have on your hands) do the seasonal time trials.

There was a thread discussing this a long time ago, I think by White & Nerdy. I think it's a great idea, but a lot of people hated it.

I compared the idea to many RPG's New Game+ mode, calling it New Race +. It would be offered after completing of the Extreme Series, so people don't have to do endurances if they don't want. You keep everything you have earned, but the races become longer, and the AI harder, more tuning restrictions, and maybe even add mechanical damage. Each time you do New Race + the game becomes harder and longer to complete. I think the saying for Demon Souls is 'The real Demon Souls starts at New Game +'. It would be same with GT5.

I think it's a great way to add life to the career, but surprisingly, as much as people complain the game is too easy, they were against it. It doesn't seem like it be very hard to add to the game, but could add a lot of value of us.

Edit: the other problem the other thread had was calling it Prestige Mode, people are elitists and it's very cool to hate COD, so they immediately shot the idea down without even reading what he was proposing. Looks like some people are doing the same here.

I think this has some merit. Keep your cars, keep your money. AI can stay the same. This could be done with re-adding most of the races (Not including enduros higher than the 4 hour races), and changing some of the specs to enter. They could add an additional screen to the upper left of the A-spec level tiers, and inside is an additional 4-5 tiers with 9 race series each. They could be remakes of the originals, or take some of the seasonal races and export them to offline. Since they're not importing new tracks, the update wouldn't be big. This could also help engineer a way to add additional tracks down the road... and maybe DLC content for race series (like a LeMans series, WRC, more intensive NASCAR series, etc.)

Examples:
Sunday Cup: AI runs with 400 PP, You're limited to 350PP.
Gallardo Cup: AI runs normal cars, you must add 100kg and lose 25hp.
FGT: AI runs normal, you must add 50kg, lose 100hp.
Dream Car: AI runs their 680-720PP as normal, you must run <625PP.
Super GT: AI runs GT500 cars, you run GT300.

Also, turn penalties on.

I'd like to see the prize car system that PD had back in GT3, that would make the game more fun in my opinion.

Would be cool only if at *prestige 1* there was new career with new prize but they would be longer like 10-15 laps on normal track, 25-30 on short, ~5 on Nürburgring and harder where everyone have same power whatever the car is.

Prize car would be unique! New premium car only available on these race with new RM so if you want both of them (RM and Stock) You have to redo the championship!

I was thinking you could have variable prizes for competitions. Like have one prize if you have a 700pp car, that prize +50% for a 500pp car etc. (running on the assumption the AI is running 400-500pp), You could tuck away a few really rare cars that can only be won if you enter events with 200pp less than the opposition, sort of thing.

GT5 Hardcore Mode:

* Online only.
* You must pass license test before you can enter races.
* You start with 10,000 Cr.
* There is a set economy. Very little in the way of cars are spawned from nothing. There are a set number of cars introduced every month or so through the new car dealership. Even old cars, introduced with 0 miles, through their new car dealership. They are introduced in numbers to be balanced with their real world counter parts. The number of cars introduced will have to be based on the number of people enrolled in the Hardcore mode, but the percentage of cars introduced that are of any particular model depend on how many were made of that car for real.
* The dealership is shared. Everyone in Hardcore shops from the same limited pool.
* Prices are not fixed. There can be bidding wars.
* You can sell your car.
* The used car dealership is only populated by cars sold by other Hardcore players. It will come with their miles.
* You can also sell off parts. Thus there is a used parts shop, too.

I'd also like to introduce some sort of honor or karma system. Drivers give a + or - in an online race to the other drivers around, as to whether they raced cleanly.

I'd also like to introduce the idea that you have to pay for repairs suffered in a race, but that can be abused so so very badly.

I reckon they should increase the level cap to 100 (reaching level 40 is way to easy now with the seasonals imo).

Same races but with increased laps (so instead of 3 it would be 6 etc).
Some new "prestige" races which are only unlocked when you achieve prestige mode.
A mode where you get to cruise round London, Madrid and Tokyo.
