I've done plenty of stuff far worse than that:
Lost control of a Lotus Elise Motor Sport at under 40mph and spun it out (full 360) ... on GREEN tires.
Lost races despite having a triple digit horsepower advantage.
Rear-ending/pushing the lead car across the start finish line instead of passing it because I mis-timed my jump out of his draft.
Your idea of embarrassing is my idea of a proud moment; being good enough to be able to risk giving the AI a break ... and in the Pro series no less!
