Preventing a B-Spec Pit Stop?

I have been trying to beat the World Championship in the Professional league all night. I have become too anxious so I am using the b-spec driver for some of the courses. Is there a way to prevent the driver from pitting? I have seen it where the 'P' (pit indicator) will light up notifying me that he is going to put. So i just turn the light off. Problem solved I thought, wrong. He will still pit on his own later in the race. I have had him do it on the final lap of a race causing me to go from 1st to last sometimes. Anyone have a suggestions?

Afaik, you can't prevent him from pitting over a longer period. Just as you wrote, you can "unpit" him by pressing the "pit in" button when he wants to pit. But sure enough, he'll try again soon.

What I don't get is why you don't want him to pit at all. Sure, pitting in the last lap is no good, and you can impede that by using the above trick. But for how many laps is he supposed to race without pitting? His tires will already be going red then, causing him to spin and go off the track, so why not let him pit?

I rather suggest a proper pit strategy of yours, telling him when to pit and when not. But you must let him pit some times, or he won't win the race. And try harder tires, cause they last longer. You may not be as quick as the others on the track, but if you can avoid one or two pit stops on the other hand, you win 30 secs with every stop you didn't have to make.

You can try putting some harder tires on - which ones are wearing out fastest? or try running him at a lower speed. With my b-spec driver is driving a niec, fast race car (like you might use in the World Championship), I usually set it to 3 or 4 until he ends up in first after a lap or two, then set it on 2 or 3 and he will usually not only conserve tires better but also generally ends up with better lap times as well.
I a-spec'd most of the races in the World Championship, and I think I pitted around lap 12 of the only 18 lap race I remember (Hong Kong).

In an 18 lap race i have him pit on lap 9 or 10. Then he tries to pit again on 17 or 18 and I cannot prevent him.
If he can do 9 or 10 laps with one set of tires, why would he want to pit after 8 or 9 laps with a new set? And why can't you stop him from pitting with the trick we talked about, meaning: what happens when you press the "pit in" button when he wants to pit?

And like I said, try another pitting strategy. Alter the front and rear tire compounds so that they need about the same time to wear out. In this case (the 18 lap race), use the hardest tires at the position they wear the most, usually the front with race cars. If the back ones last longer, take a softer compound for the back.Should they wear out at the same speed, take the same compound for both, front and back.

But if you already use the hardest ones, use softer tires and make two stops. And only let the B-Spec driver go as fast as he needs to. If you're in 1st place and you're lengthening the lead, put him down one or two speed steps and switch off "overtake", this will reduce tire wear. But keep an eye on the times, if he starts to lose too much speed, put him up one step again.

I would have thought the same here, but lack of B-spec experience says I wouldnt bet the bank on it. However it worked for me on the El Capitan when I forced my driver to go the final lap despite my tires being shot, fearing the pit would cost too much time despite my huge lead. This decision came close to costing me the race as I watched the compition close in at an alarming rate, I finished a mere 1.5 seconds ahead.

The first couple of times he tries to pit i just switcsh the indicator off. But on like the third time, the 'P' indicator doesn't even light up, he just pulls into the pit without notifying me.

I guess he's just scared to crash and burn. :scared:

But still, I don't see any reason why anybody would want him to stay out with shiny red tires. Try a proper strategy, and you won't have to worry about this anymore.

Hi.. Which car are you using? personally i use the minolta and you win that in the endurance at el capitan. Then i got to gt world championship, b-spec set your driver on 3, no more, no less or he makes errors or isnt quite quick enough. Plus use medium tyres for the front and hard for the rear. Just keep tweking your car settings til they're optimal and you should win no probs at all. Oh and one last thing, make sure you get the extra turbo before you start to get you over 1000bhp.nice!!!...Hope that helpss....ta ta..;).. :)
