I like the new prize list at https://www.gtplanet.net/gt3/prizecars.htm.
It would be interesting to have a short write up of each for those of us that aren't up on all the cars.
I'll start:
Mercedes Benz CLK Touring Car
The German Touring Car Masters (DTM = Deutch Tourenwagen Masters) series was restarted in 2000. There are strict standards for tires, transmission, differential gearing, brakes, rear wing, and diffuser that narrow the performance gap between cars.
One of the teams entered was sponsored by a German telecommunication firm, D2, with the driver of #1 car being Bernd Schneider.
For more details see http://translate.google.com/transla...amg.html&prev=/search?q=d2+amg+mercedes&hl=en
Chevrolet Corvette C5R
The two General Motors entries in the 2000 Le Mans were #63 and #64 Corvette C5-R's. 64 and 63 came in third and fourth behind two Oreca Vipers in the GTS class. See http://www.le-mans.co.uk/lm00/00index.htm for more details.
