Is it possible to win in a Zonda c12s? Those race versions are very good handlers (relativly). Your imput would be appreciated :)

It's possible, but very tough, my second time through I used the Zonda C12S and spent about 4 hours on it.

Yes, it is possible to win in a C12S - helps if you run the maximum turbo tune on it. I'm a bit ashamed to say this is one of the two events (the other being the pro-Lotus races) where I ran TCS and ASM, as the big fella takes some stopping!!!

Be very gentle with the C12S, and brake about 100 metres before you think you need to (that is NOT a joke!).

Not only is it possible, but I actually advise using the c12. The level of satisfaction is so much greater when you're driving the c12 against a full grid of race cars.

This is an outrageously tough race in the C12s. I've recently completed it in the race car, and the results look like this...

Practive around the track, and see if you can get close to these times. If you can make these times, you can win the race.

I did these races in the Pagani Zonda Race car, with an oil change (felt guilty) and T2 tires.

Settings:
Keep in mind I'm not the world's best tuning champ (I'm in the 30th percentile, by a gross estimate)

Springs: 16.4/14.8
Ride Height: 55/55
Bound/Rebound = 6 (all)
Camber: 3.5/1.7
Toe: 0.0/-1.0
Stabilizers: 5/5
Brakes: 19/16
LSD: 10/18/16
Auto Set gears: Level 37
Final Drive: 4.370
Down force: 1.00/1.25 (max)
ASM = 0; TCS = 0

Rome Circuit
Starting from the back of the pack, I gained the lead in the fourth turn on the 4th lap. The first 3 laps were like bumper cars.

2nd place Car: + 36.077

Best Lap: 1’18.865
Total time: 13’30.804

I was 15+ seconds in the lead, when the entire field pitted.

Rome Circuit II
Starting again from the back of the pack.

2nd place Car: + 18.235

Best Lap: 1’19.737
Total time: 13’36.134

And not one used the pit stop. After thoughts tell me that I could have tweaked the gears a bit lower, as I never hit 6th gear. Also I think that the LSD should have been set higher, as the backend really wanted to come around.

Best of luck.

AO - I'm assuming by "set higher" you mean the acceleration effect. What you say here would be correct for a lower-powered car. Having both rear wheels driving more equally (with differential slip limited) would indeed promote understeer, and reduce the tendency to spin out on exit.

However, with a very powerful car like the Zonda, you may actually do better reducing the acceleration effect, or raising the initial torque much higher. With a high-output car, it is so easy to overwhelm the rear traction that too high an LSD accel effect will just light up both rear tires and let the car snap around. Reducing the accel effect will allow the inside tire to spin more, true; but it will also let the outside tire use more of the available traction to resist the lateral motion.

The other method would be to leave the accel effect alone and set the initial torque value fairly high, so that the car is more stable at the beginning part of the acceleration. This will let it gain some momentum so that once the car does hook up, the path is more straight and the car is ready to take advantage of the LSD.

If I recall, what I intended by setting of the LSD higher was the inital Torgue setting at a higher level.

So...a matter of semantics, I was trying to increase the ability for the tires to rotate at different speeds. To keep the car more stable at the last half of the corner.

Does that make sense?

Yes. And I believe it would also be the correct thing to do, as I described in my last paragraph.

When I moved the camber to 3.5 in the race car (With this much downforce), It made the car "wiggly" on high speed straight sections. By adjusting the toe on the rear, it helped to stabilize the car on these stretches. It also helped minimize the understeer that seems to be prevalent on the Zondas.

Listen to viper the only way I could win it is with the race car...The other zondas drive like they dont have a steering wheel...

Just load up the C12S with every possible piece of equipment and move to the track.

I don't recall having any problems winning this race with the C12S. It looks like you have an unfair advantage but I believe you have 2-300hp more than the Zonda Race Cars with the Stage 4 Turbo.

Just don't try to brake while cornering as you will be sweeping from one side of the track to the other from start to finish.

oh man.....a really easy way but like very unskillful way to win this is, add as much turbo and all the fixins for any new zonda u have, but some super slick tires and just ride the walls to freedom! of course some walls have like really harsh angles that u shouldnt ride but you should find out what those are pretty quickly. since you fly around the corners that usually take alot of braking to do, youll be in the lead in no time.

I would want to win by more than just pure speed...Thats like taking the escudo to the superspeedway race in the sunday cup...Or at least im that way and want more out of the game on my second save that I just started...

Iwon it with the C12S, You will need max hp to catch them on the straights, because for the first few laps they will keep passing you every turn and then you will pass them on the straights. After a while you will gain a lead on them. Choosing tires is very important. I chose T3
