youth_cycler i would like to say that through all the whole thing you and holland where the moderate subjects, the other subjects where severelly influenced by the media.
this was part of my project, a project that have to do with world politics and current evente and the influence of modern day media on our society through the world wide web.
i picked out this forum because of it's organized data base, multiple ethnicities, and countries, it was highly recomended by a person who i can not disclose his name or his screen name and no it was not advan_r though he seems interesting.

all of the views that i have expressed before are my personall views and i stand firmley by them.
thank you for your time

P.S. i shamefull to regret that we are a society that is in reall need on a slap on the face to realise what is going in this world. i am deeply concerned because even after sept 11th, nothing has changed and our view to the world is still through our goverment and we beleive that what tehy say is true. a true shame, but a reality.

How can I take you seriously when you can't even correctly spell words like 'really,' 'personal,' or 'firmly?'

OK, this would have been fair enough. An interesting project, even if you didn't seem to play it terribly well.

But.

Then you had to keep going and post this:

all of the views that i have expressed before are my personall views and i stand firmley by them.
So, somehow, what you're concluding is this:

Those of us who pay attention to the world news, from multiple sources and in multiple media, who then decide for ourselves what are the most credible sources, and who then go on to form a rational opinion based on that information - we who do that are somehow inferior to a person who will believe any half-baked, bizarre and non-rational bit of nonsense, just because it disagrees with the status quo?

If you're really a college student you should be able to understand what I just wrote.

P.S. i shamefull to regret that we are a society that is in reall need on a slap on the face to realise what is going in this world. i am deeply concerned because even after sept 11th, nothing has changed and our view to the world is still through our goverment and we beleive that what tehy say is true. a true shame, but a reality.
Understand - I don't believe everything my government says. Also, I disagree with a lot of it. The point is I decide for myself.

You, on the other hand, don't decide for yourself. By only believing things against the US government, you are letting them "dictate" your thoughts just as badly as you accuse us.

Well first off, if the subject of the thread is true... thank god.

However, I want to address something.

The idea of government influence on my or anyone elses thoughts as well as the possible change of mind and heart after 9/11.

For starters... my views trully are my own.

To write off anyone as being a person who has an opinion purly formed by the propaganda of my government is not only insulting, but it is also arrogant and ignorant of the person claiming such ideas.

However, with the views you have shown (allah almighty) I cant see you as being a person who would believe that a person with an oppossing view, formed that view on their own.

For the next subject... The idea of a change of heart and mind...

I am proud to say that I will never change my views about those who committed the acts of 9/11 as well as the people who hold the same extremist views.

The fact is, those people have made their views clear without the use of U.S. government propaganda...

They have made open threats about their intentions, and furthermore; they have specifically made the point that this is an ideological war, which will never end until their enemies are destroyed.

With my enemy being one who openly acknowledges the idea that compramise is not an option, there is no option for me as a reasonable person, besides to fight these monsters head on and winning is my only option... that or death.

My IDEALS would suggest that I should allow peace and reason mindedness to overtake these extremist in the long run, but that will never happen... this is a world of facts and ideas, not IDEALS.

The likes of Osama Bin Laden and other extremist use ideals as their guide and the extremist views they are based on will never allow for a realization of those ideals.

I hope that one day you can come to realize that these people were not forced into this position, rather, they were only allowed this position by the western worlds hopes for peace and our ignorance as to ignore the threats of the past...

The bombings of Marine barracks in lebanon in '83, the assasination of robert kennedy by a palestinian, the bombing of the uss cole and the bombing of the world trade center are all examples of the extremist islamic world attacking the U.S. with almost no retalitory strikes and more importantly, an always present hope for peace from the side of westerners who cared to hear the pleas of people like the palestinians... only to be ignored by the muslim extremist.

The west will win in this war of ideology, but only because love is in our hearts, where as hate is in the hearts of those who aggressively persue the goals of a fully muslim world and an ethical cleansing of the infadels.

The propaganda released by the arab world is what I base my opinions on... not the facts presented by our "first world, free press."

If you want proganda, you should go to the state controlled television networks of the arab world... not the independant press of the free world.

My hopes are for peace, but that does not mean I will ignore the hostilities of another party.

My hopes are also that you (allah al inferior) will never show your extremist, foolish face on these boards again.

I'm sure he's terribly sorry for exercising his right to freely speak in a way opposite from the way you exercise yours - from now on, I'm sure he plans to control his free speech.

If the 'al inferior' statement was, as I assume it was, a remark about his God then I think you, too, are way out of line.

Well, anyway, let's move on and have some rational discussions, shall we? :)

What a coincidence! You can join that other annoying member we had here a few months ago:

Ironically, his member name was Gawd.

Fair comment, M5.

You guys need to realise there is another point of view outside of the 'Christian right' that so many of you seem to slavishly follow here.

I neither endorse nor follow either perspective, but you need to realise that it is a point of view - there is no black or white in these issues, only grays - and you need to respect that other people have differing points of view on life.

Otherwise, you make a mockery of the first amendment to your consititution...

Vat - as someone who does not live in the US - I'd say your view of us is a little skewed.

Many people do not follow this "Christian Right" way of thinking. True, many also do (they're kind of our version of Muslim extremists) and unfortunately they have a loud voice in our media. But rest assured that they do not speak for much of our population - more level-headed Christians included. If you had a constiuency that donated no less than 10% of their weekly paycheck, you'd be able to buy a lot of air time as well.

AA - I understand what you're trying to get across, but your threads always seemed like they were designed just to get a rise out of the GTP community. We realize that war is a horrible thing. But so is a nation where you can be tortured and killed for voicing a dissenting opinion. Now that it seems that many Iraqis were in favor of ousting Saddam (despite the cost), it's hard to disagree with President Bush's decision to invade Irag. I know you can't trust everything you see on TV, but seeing as I don't have a better source of information.....

Sorry - my comment was pointed at some of the more extreme reactions to AA's comments, not the US population as a whole.

I may have been out of line, but the fact of the matter is...

I will never yeild or bend to the will of people who see 9/11 as an action that was justified because of the U.S.'s own actions.

My post said some of what I feel, but I will never be able to express all of my views here... at risk of being banned for vulgar language or hate based speech or just the fact that typing makes it harder to express emotion.

I will never forgive or forget about what happend in september nor will I ever accept the completly immoral treatment of the people of the world who live under dictators or other systems of oppression.

This world is seriously screwed up, and although the us isnt perfect, the u.s. is still one of the few countrys in the world who deliver the rights and freedoms promised.

I love my country, and allah... doesnt... infact, he hates it.

And so, although he is entitled to his opinion... I will fight his views with all of my heart.

I will never allow people like him to win.

Even if my comments make me look bad, it does not matter, because I know that the ideals of freedom and democracy are true and honest... not skewed and wicked such as communism and fascism.

I may be extreme about this, but I have 3,000 reasons for my extremism.

Oh, OK. I should've known better than to think you'd make a generalization like that. :dunce:

Heh - we need a 'tip of the hat' smilie.

I actually have some very dear friends who live in the US, and relatives who I'm very close to (well, not distance-wise!) living in New York, so I'm not as out of touch as many would think.

hi there,
the reason it takes me too long to reply is because i do not have inter-net at home, but that is not the issue. i can still see that there are people around here who think i'm an outsider and the words like he hates this country and other words of degradation keep on popping up, and then there is this guy who checking my spelling.................
i mean guys isn't there any thing else you guys would rather be doing.........
i'm not including every body in gtp but the guys who keep on, or should i say try to push my buttons. i mean come on grow up and accept that there are other people with different views who live on this earth...............
now some wise guy will reply back with a long detailed response giving examples and using sophiticated words, to him who ever he is i say, get a freaking life.
what happened is already done, but do not expect it to pass without any ramifications...........

mmmmmmmmmmm,...... piiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiie

freedom frys, can it get any more pathetic than that.........
I believe the only thing more pathetic than re-wording French Fries (which isn't even what the French call them) is mis-spelling 'freedom fries' while insulting it. Yet, carry on.

it was intentional!!!
because it is a fry................
we turned out to bee stupid in front of the whole world, we got fryed:
fry2
pl.n.

1.Small fish, especially young, recently hatched fish.
2.The young of certain other animals.
3.Individuals, especially young or insignificant persons: "These pampered public school boys . . . had managed to evade the long prison sentences that lesser fry were serving" (Noel Annan).
