Problem reconnecting CSR Elite wheel rim

I disconnected the cables between the wheel rim and wheel base to check that
all bolts are tightened, some have mentioned they had problems with bolts which were not tightened.

But now I can't reconnect the cables with the tools I have since the cables from the wheel rim are very short, see picture.
The connectors are close to the bottom of the hole and are moving when trying to reconnect + the cables from the wheel base are pretty short.
I think the cables are shorter than they should be.

Has anyone that has successfully disconnected and reconnected the wheel
a picture of the cables/connectors ?
I could use it when sending a mail to Fanatec support.

Hmm. They haven't been. Pushed back in an attempt to push the rim back on have they?

Only a guess. I haven't seen one disconnected in the flesh.

There is a video of a preproduction CSR Elite wheel.

The video shows (at 5:40) that the cables from the rim are much longer,
it's possible to pull the connectors out of the hole.
It would be much easier to switch between different rims if the cables were that long.
The question is if Fanatec decided to use shorter cables on the production version or if this is a manufacturing mistake

Does anyone have the longer cables on a production wheel ?
I could use a picture of that and my wheel to
show Fanatec support there could be a manufacturing problem.

The cables in my rim and base are long enough to provide a few inches of slack. In fact I have to tuck then when attaching the wheel to the base.

So the cables in the rim are a few inches when measuring from the bottom of the hole ?
Is it enough to pull the connectors out of the hole ?

Yeah mine too, I have a few inchs of cable on mine. Give yours a giggle maybe there hung up on something.

I tried to pull the connectors out of the hole but nothing happens.
I don't want to pull too hard since that may cause some damage.
I could open the rim but I don't want to lose the warranty.

The cable loom is sleeved in clear vinyl. I'm willing to bet the sleeve is catching on the small opening the cable feeds through. If you can work the sleeve through, you'll probably find the slack you're looking for.

I had the same problem. what I did was pull them out VERY slowly with a pair of tweezers that I hooked to the "wings" of each cord. there is quite a bit of cord inside the wheel, but you need to be gentle in pulling it out.

I tried again to pull and push the cables in different directions with tweezers, no success.
It seems I have to wait for a reply from Fanatec.

I sent a mail to them describing the cables can get stucked but
some have succeeded to pull out the cables.

Thanks for all info !

in more detail, what I did was hook the tweezers onto the "wings" (instead of actually trying to grab the ends of the cord with them) and used leverage to very slowly pull each part up from the rim individually.

I tried to grab the cords and the connectors in different ways and from different directions.
Nothing happens.

Are the cables/cords from the rim about as long as in the Youtube video I posted after you pulled them out ?
English is not my main language so I'm not sure about the word slack that has been used in some previous posts.

Here is a follow up if someone gets the same problem.

Fanatec support replied within 2 workdays and said I could open the wheel.
There is a transparent tube surrounding the thin cables inside the wheel.
That tube was too long and the edge of the tube got stuck inside the wheel when trying
to pull out the connectors.
There is no problem pulling out the connectors after shortening that tube.
