When I use my Turtle Beaches with my PC, the mic lead won't stay connected unless it is held angling upwards. I noticed the actual port itself has shifted slightly out of place. How is this fixed?
First figure out if it's the port or the pin. Try a different mic and see if it has the same problem.
If it's the mic pin, get a new one. If it's the port, you're in a bit of trouble, they're quite hard to access. Perhaps you could send a pic of your PC, or let us know what case you have.
I tried using the sound lead, as it detects that as well, and I had the same problem. My earphones seem to be fine, but I think the Turtle Beach's pins get pulled around a lot because it's three wires connected to one bit, and they get pulled around by the weight.
I think the problem is that the audio and mic port are indented into the case, and the plugs are too big, so they don't make contact very well inside the ports. As the mic port is not completely straight, the mic plug is angled slightly, so it doesn't fully go in. My Dad is going to go to Maplins on monday to look for an extension cable that has smaller plugs (like the ones on earphones).
Here's a picture of all the connectors, mic plug on the right:
