Problems with loading screen, HELP

i have GT4 and i have a problem where, after i finish a race, and the loading screen comes up, with the spinning white disk. Well, when this comes up for me the disk isn't white, it is red. So the spinning disk is red. The game doesn't do anything, it is stuck in on that screen.

What is this and how do i fix it?

It's the dreaded Disk Read Error.

Try a different copy of GT4. If it works, get a new copy of GT4. If it doesn't, get a new PS2 (or, if you're comfortable opening it up, follow the directions for fixing the DRE available on any good internet).
 
It's happend to me twice, not very often at-all, only when the disc is'nt in properly.

There are other ways to run into a DRE -- the most common one is an old, worn-out PS2 that just needs a disk drive adjustment or cleaning.
 
I had this same problem. First, I cleaned the disk, that worked, but the game did it now and then. Then I turned off the racing BGM, this solved my problem 100%.
 
I had this happen to me when my disc was dirty/scratched. I just turned off the PS2, took out the disc, wiped it off, and it worked fine afterwards.

yeah, it was the disk for me, see if your PS2 will work with other technical games if it only works with simple games, it's the PS2, if not it's your disk (you can get a plastic coating in game shops for the disk if there only light scratches)
My old PS2 first had a lazer problem, (got it fixed in local game shop for £30) then it broke again, (another lazer problem, took it to local games shop, they replaced the laser for around £60)
 
This has just happened to me, only just after the Super Speedway 100 miles (which I had won)!! :mad:
NOOO!!! Anyways, I had to reset it, and I will be attempting it again. :indiff:
The most annoying thing was that the disk was scratch and dust free. I look after my game disks (I have had GT4 since release), yet it still happened!
 
Arrrrrr i just finish'd racing after an hour of play 2 races left and then,
bub-kiss, nothing, black screen, sitting in shock for a moment, tapping ps softly
lost my stella run, wayout in front, could of finish'd last and still one event:(

my ps2 is like brand new, 15-06-06 same as game
 
Open and close the disc tray (lid OR drawer). This might give it enough of a "jolt" for it to work out its place.
