Ha ha no one is safe from RROD

What is really bugging me right now is the fact one of my controllers refuses to charge any batteries.

I have two play and chare kits and three controllers, two of my controllers charge the batteries fine but one of them just point blank refuses and its a pretty new controller and has been treated fine, never been dropped or thrown in anger, as soon as i plug in the charger the light goes green as if to say the battery is charged but in reality its not, its dead and it doesnt charge at all.

Also its annoying as all my controllers are black and i cant tell them apart until i try and charge them. i'm constantly swapping my batteries about like hot cakes!!!

Just got my first E74 error with a single red light :( A week before I was due to take the console to a friend's house to play drunken CoD and Guitar Hero too. I've got to find a box to send it in now, I'm hoping I can find one at work somewhere.

Been dealing with 3RLOD since I bought my launch day 360. Just fixed it for the 4th time about 2 weeks ago. Never sent it in because it failed before they extended their warranty to the 3 year and got denied when I originally called; so I opened it up to do the Xclamps, and now I can't send it in since I voided a warranty they didn't have when I called back then....

My Elite died last night. That's my second. Beyond ridiculous. Utter disgrace that this can happen so much. I am not amused.

Well my elite died last week sent it for repair under warranty , and my 20gb premium died this weekend so I'm going to send it in too not under warranty for 100 bucks.

Oh what fun!

Just call and tell them you have the 3 RROD. My gf is on her 5th, I am about to be on my 4th, and my brother is on his 2nd. It worked for ALL of our 360s so far even if they didnt have the 3 RROD. :sly:

I realise it's been quite some time, in fact 6 months since it first failed  but I finally got around to sending it out for repair under your suggestion and it worked a treat! Got a replacement in the space of 2 weeks, so thank you very much for the tip! :)

The XB360 games are great, the console isn't.

You hit the nail right on the head there. I have often criticised the 360 in these forums simply because it is, has, and always will be a poorly designed, unreliable piece of hardware compared to the PS3. This is not because I am a PS3 owner - there are 360 exclusives that I would love to play and have often been tempted to get a 360 just to play them. And I am sure for 360 owner's there are PS3 exclusives they would like to play as well.
Microsoft need to sort out their design faults and give us a console that will last. The library of quality games for it deserves nothing less.
If the new design of 360 is as reliable as the PS3 then I may invest in one to play the likes of Gears Of War and Halo 3.

Yup works every time. As soon as you say "I have the 3 RROD", they will repair or replace it for free. Even if you dont have the 3 rrod. :sly:👍

Dang I just looked back at post #263 when my last 360 died and it has been over a year. So the one they sent me truly held up this time and has been the longest lasting 360 that I own. It also helps that I install EVERY single game I play too. So if you want to add life to your 360, install your games.

I have to say, I saw CamaroBoy posting in this thread and the first thing that came to my mind was "What, did another one break on him?"

Knowing that this probably died though, has anyone fixed the "open Tray" problem that is rising? I already sent my elite back to MS for the E74 and I might try someone local pretty soon. Any Tips?

I had a problem with a refurbished Xbox 360 "Slim" I bought. It would randomly and frequently turn itself on or off:

After a couple of tests, I decided that it was almost certainly a fault with the touch-senstive button itself, so instead of returning the console, I tore the front panel off. Problem seems solved thus far. 👍

My launch console had a weird video issue, it would just be all red with some lines of green, but still had sound. I paid for it to get fixed a few weeks out of warranty. The one I got back red ringed about 2 1/2 years later, but the warranty went by my original console purchase, not the one that they sent back to me after I paid to fix it. So I bought a arcade bundle and used my old hard drive. Now this one is starting to not read discs. So far I just have to remove a disc and put the tray in to reset the eye. Soon It may die too, I hope not.
