Professional difficulty in arcade mode

Don't think your work is over once you've finished the Hard courses on arcade mode, as the toughest challenge is yet to come - the Professional Mode. To access this, go to the level selection menu, go down to hard and hold L1 and R1 together. If this is done correctly the hard difficulty setting briefly changes to Professional.

I've tried this a couple of times now and the professional difficulty seems to be harder than the Hard difficulty.
