Sorry, bit bad of me if you've already read that post jparker sorry. Just a little annoyed that I've still not got GT4, I'm waiting for it to arrive.

You still have'nt got it? When did you order?

A couple of weeks ago, it's been sent I just haven't got it yet. I might just go and buy it tomorrow and whenever it arrives just send the mail order one back, I got it through Amazon along with MGS3 which has arrived.

No problem man. I am SOOOOO sorry you are having to read all of these posts about probably one of the best games released to date, and haven't gotten yours yet. LOL. Sorry man I had to. Brace yourself though, get all of the sleep you can, do all of the normal day to day things you typically do while you can, because when you do get your copy of the game; life as you know it will change. I haven't been to bed earlier than 1:00AM during the week and 3:00 AM on the weekends.
And I have to be at work by 7:30. One good thing you are able to read all of these posts and get a little knowledge of the do's and don't's of the game before you get it.

Your at work when I'm leaving home for work, ouch. ;).

Wow, so many of you blatantly cheat by using fully modded 800+hp cars. Your really don't need more than 600hp in a car for this race. I used my M3 GTR with 530hp and won every event. The only sad part about this cup, however, is the fact that the computer is allowed to use concept cars when it clearly states only production models are allowed.

I used a RUF 3400S, tuned at just over 500 HP. GT4 seemed to think that was a fair race -- it gave me as much as 120 A-Spec points for one event -- but frankly, I ran away from the field easily...

Cheat? Using strong cars is now cheating?

i just beat it recently. the car i used was a 490hp r34 gtr n1..... thats a lot of letters. everything wasnt too hard cept infineon where i would get massive understeer near the end. that one took about 3 tries :( but i got it done on s2's at least.

Did the same thing saltiness.

Stock M3 GTR. However, I skipped entering once, and then came back and then entered it.

I'll probably use my 2.5 Supra for that. If I lose any, I'll switch back after its over and use my Nismo 400R to "clean up".

Apologizes to live4speed, when you get it, you'll like it nuff said. Till then MGS3 is worth playing until you get it. Heck, MGS3 is worth playing after you got it! Many times over!

Used 600hp Mazda RX-7 type R... ownage.
My questions is what car do you have to wait for or win to win the grand turismo WORLD champsionship? I tried using the s2000 LM Race car... the only race car I had and it's not fast enough compared to the GT race cars.

DOH!!! made the mistake of putting a stage 4 turbo on my ruf yellowbird, fastest thing I have in a straight line, but can it turn?!?!?! ummmmm, if I bribed it with 999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999bucks. but is that going to happen? NO! so is there another prize car that will win the race? so far I have only bought 4 cars in the game and would like to keep it that way for as long as I can.

TVR cerbera speed 12, full mods, 1100 hp 1000 ft/lbs ... i dont know any races i can bspec with it ez except gt world and the extreme events

I was thinking of buying a DB9 to do the rest, I think it fits the bill best for this kind of race, and its just a sweet looking car. But before I blow ~$160K+ anyone know if its worth it? How does it handle. I might just end up using the M5.

I tried using that beast with over 1000hp and it was way too much the wheels spun out until about 60mph and forget about taking a sharp corner. Are you using soft tires?

I agree the DBR looks great. Can you try it out in arcade mode? 💡

the supercar race was.. well it was hard, I ended up going out and buying the FPP GT and tuning it some to win.. and you know how it says only production models? well half the field I was racing against were concept cars.. I was so mad at that. Every race it started out Ford GT, Cadillac Cien, Audi Nuvolari quattro, Volkswagen W12 Nardo Concept, Spyker C8 Laviolette, and me in my FPP GT. I have the cien and nuvolari so I tried them but nope can't enter, and the nardo flat out says concept.. yet.. the computer used them.. which is not fair.. -_-

I am actually surprised at how many people feel they need their 800 plus horsepower monsters to win this race. the first time I ran it I used a stock Saleen S7. All the races were close, but I won. Then I tried a stock Ford GT. Yup, no problem. Then the stock Zonda C12. That won easily as well. I just tried the stock Jaguar XJ220 road car and that is the best car yet!

So I ended up winning it with the DB9, it didnt qualify stock (need 493 hp to enter), so I boosted it up to 500, then I did all the weight savings (DB9 is a pig 1710kg stock!), racing tranny, brakes, suspension.

It wasnt too hard, the only one I had a problem with is New York, where I kept getting this ZZII that was just too fast in the long straights. I would catch it in the twisties, and in the roundabout I would get pretty close to its tail, but once it hit the straight it was long gone. So I had to mod up to 525 to win NY.

I must say the DB9 was a pretty good car, but even with the weight savings it was a pig. You need to brake super early. No other car Ive used have I had to brake as early as with the DB9.

ran a ctr2 for the first 4? races, but the other cars ate my lunch at infineon. so i went out and bought a ford gt and won easily.

the question above about the world championships..i used the formula gt.

I see a lot of cars that have been used, some high powered and some low powered... but I see nobody commenting on traction. I really hate these races designed for lousy traction. Even when I hit the brakes at only 40mph I'd start sliding and keep going forever.

After trying a bunch of cars (all lousy brakers) I gave up and started using all the dirty tricks. Saleen on B-spec for 1st race, Dodge RAM for 2nd (boy, that was one weird 200 point race). Then I stopped... I'd really like to run this race with something that "feels" like normal driving.

Can someone recommend a car that can beat this race and also has decent traction?

That all depends on your style. A good choice, but I used my Jaguar Xj220. Handles well even on below-par tires.
