The exceptional use of proper English astounds me. So not only can you not spell, you can't search either. You can't take 5 minutes to test the theory out yourself?

Is it just me or have most of the kids in todays school system not been taught to think for themselves. I see this everytime I stop by where my wife works. Kids that can't count change on a cash register, kids that can't work a scale unless it's digital.

Here's a translation: This has probably come up before, but when you press L1 and R1 in the Arcade Menu a Professional mode appears. Can someone please offer me a bit more info on what the Professional mode is?

Most certainly. It's a mode that ofers you a bit more comeptition in the Arcade Races. It has no bearing on the percentage complete. These races incorporate tire wear and faster/more competitive AI cars.

He's that fast, but has no clue about Arcade mode?

Ahhh...to be young and have the reactions of a hyper active Gnat.

The "professional mode" also has 10 lap races. So, if you use an arcade car you will be using some pit strategy or you will be losing.

Haha...

Thanks for the translation DA...1:11 in an RX7 on Cote? You're right milefile, this guy must be full of it.

I still don't get it why you guys never can understand what they are saying when they make like 5 or 6 mistakes.

Maybe it's because you guys learned English from school and us Americans picked it up from ear.

Dozer: You're not one to talk here. I can understand if they make 4 or 5 mistakes, but his post has 6 spelling mistakes and 7 grammar mistakes in one run-on sentence.

I am an American, yet I still learned English fine. Are you using "being American" as an excuse for bad english? I take personal offense at that.

Then again, most American school children don't have to use it as an excuse, it's the truth.

OMFG YOU SPELLED OFFER AND COMPETITION WRONG YOU MUST BE AN AMERICAN SCHOOL CHILD WITH BAD SPELLING SKILLS

I'm 17 years old, and am about to enter my last year of high school. Just because we (the younger generation) type using shortcuts such as taking out letters, spelling a word differently, or leaving out all punctuation, it does not make us stupid. We're just lazy, that's all.

i type like this all the time, and it really dont matter to most people how we type. iono why you went so crazy on him cuz he used one sentence, no punctuation, and bad grammar. i can do that too, but then i can type in a stuck-up perfectionist way as well. this is just easier, so thats why we do it.

So, because you're lazy, we have to deal with it? I don't think so. You're welcome to be as lazy as you like. But you're not welcome to complain about not being respected, if you are going to be lazy.

And why on earth would you want to appear moronic and illiterate, if you're capable of better?

why waste time typing more than is necessary? as i said before, theres no point in all that wasted energy of typing properly when you can type like this and be done in half the time. and seriously, do i seem like an incoherent babbling idiot just because i dont use proper punctuation, correct spelling, use of capital letters, and proper grammar?

There is a considerable difference between a typo and mis-spelling a word.

When posting to a written word forum, all we have to base your intelligence level on is what and how you write. Lack of grammar, Spelling, punctuation pin you as a 4th grade ability to communicate with writing. And I will treat you as such.

These are the people that I have to deal with on a daily basis. It's not stuck up perfectionists, but rather finding a person who can exhibit a professional stature. I'm tired of working with people that can't form sentences, can't count, and have to be baby sat when working for me. You are this type of person. If I have to go back and re-read everything you do for my company, I'll fire you and only have to do it once.

You're 17 and entering your senior year in high school. Act like you've learned something beyond 4th grade. If you can't act that way, please understand, that I will ask you for Fries with my Burger. From what you've posted above, your future holds a name tag for your shirt, until you get promoted to Fry Cook at the local burger joint.

YES! you do.

Taking a couple shortcuts is just lazy, and most people don't have a problem with that, but things like leaving out all punctuation is just plain stupid. You're lying when you say you can type something in "half the time" by leaving out punctuation and proper spelling. That's ridiculous.

You see, for an educated person, it's easier to type in English instead of twisting your brain to find retarted-sounding ways to save a few keystrokes.

If, in fact, you're so concerned about the amount of time it takes you to type something, might I suggest you take a professional typing class or perhaps download yourself a warez version of Mavis Beacon Teaches Typing.

I do not think you're that concerned about how much time it takes, though. I think you're just ignorant.

i quit too many people working against me =\

but yeah i was exagerating(thats one word i cant spell right) when i said it takes half the time, but oh well.

when you type with no punctuation and using different words, you get so used to it that you can type like that without thinking, and then you can switch back when you need to. It's really quite easy once you get used to it.

I apologize if I offended any of you. I'll try to type "normal" from now on.

calm down people, the post has been answered, theres no need to post anymore, this is a gran turismo forum, of course youre going to find ppl that dont type in full, either cause there in the middle of a game and excited or more likely, its a kid, Gran Turismo = Game, Games = For Kids, Kids = Bad Spelling & grammer, you should expect this and deal with it, you dont have to be cynical about it, just let it be, it aint gonna stop so ignore it. Just Relax.

Man this is funny. Me and "Bbm" have already had this debate and im going to take the side of Der Alta, im trying to pick up English as best i can, and what better way than to follow by example.
Im also trying to run a business, and if my clients were ever to read a quote or invoice with the grammer displayed in this forum they'd be out the door and off to the next company.
I think its more of a respect thing to other users, im the first one to admit that my English is'nt the best in the world, but when your asking for help and your first post is horribly mispelled then what do u expect us to do?. Read your mind to help you?.

You know, I hate it when people generalise like you Prahjec and say that all kids use that typing all the time. I don't think you're "too lazy" because it only takes an extra second at the most to type those few extra letters.
