Progressive Drift Photoshoot

OK, So we’re all drifters right? And we all love taking pics of our favourite cars drifting, but how many of us (without a capture card) have a way to show how skilled we really are?

Well, I think I found a way for us to do this, so without further a due………. I give you, PROGRESSIVE DRIFT PHOTOSHOOT!!!


They’re cool because you can clearly see my line through these two turns on El Capitan…. ;)

So lemme know what you guys think? Post yours up if you like and let’s comment on them…
 
I don't mean to burst your buble, but i there was a team that specialised in this a while ago?, am i right?

They made slideshow clips of certain corners, was pretty cool.

But start it up again, nice photo's
 
Still doesn't tell you much, though I always thought it would be cool if someone rendered out all the frames for a corner and then compiled them into a video.

well, i think its a good idea, might turn out some good results. with a single frame shot, you cant really tell if the drift was successful. with this method, you can show entry, mid drift, progression of angle throughout the drift, and exit. maybe someday you can do a progressive drift photoshoot competition. make a minimum amount of frames required, and the pics must show entry, middle, and exit of the drift. i think there are a lot of possibilities with this, and it will let all those who dont have capture cards yet ( myself included ), participate.

This is the plan Jay, That's why I posted this, to see what kinda response I got from it... (I'm busy in talks with Swift... if he'll answer my PMs.
 
Hehe, I know. But u know my style. Fast in and out so it's not that smooth if I use too much angle. Oh and the setting was actually reversed on that car. I was using a stiff rear and loose front...:P
 
ViXeN, if you are going to do the comp with this, I would really want to help you! ;)

I also think this is a good idea. You should make it a 4 shot limit as it seems you can fit 4 shots across the screen when using imageshack. you will really be able to see people's entrances and exits when it comes to their drift.
 
If you have one photo showing your entry and one showing your exit then you have two shots to display your drifting prowess mid drift. We all see the shots of mid drift, whether the full drift is pulled off correctly. I am mostly interested in the start and finish of the drift (coincidently, that's where i need most of my drift help. hehe) I picked four because of how it fits across the page. I think if you allow too many then we might as well watch a video.
 
Very cool, I once drifted the last corners of the nurb after the straight in an M5 before, wanted to make GIF but I just couldn't succeed, it was a pretty good drift. I dont have the pictures of it anymore I think.....:guilty:

It is good to keep your PM box cleaned out...Or go premium so you can have 1000 and not really have to worry about it. :)

sounds like a good idea 👍 Each week you could pick a specific corner that has a good replay camera angle and see who can get the most impressive drift out of it.
 
DTC, it's a good idea for sure, but not all of us have that much time available, I know I personally struggle with time to play GT4 (GF and such) so I max my game time out on GT4...

Dunno if anyone else shares this?

If I had more time I would certainly go with the GIF idea... Perhaps 2 comps will spawn from this, Progressive pics and GIFs?

We'll see...
 
making a gif takes about the same amount of time as it does for me to make this post. well probably just a little bit longer, but if i keep typing it may be true.............................................................. ok now it's true.
 
if you want a really simple (free) gif animator try unfreez
it really simple, save your images as gifs, then open my documents and drag them in according to the order you want them...set the speed (higher=slower) click the button and presto!

I used that for a looooong time (before i got adobe photoshop+imageready a few weeks ago)
