Just wanted to say that Greg Hill, one of the guys that worked on the sound of Project CARS and apparently recorded lots and lots of cars and that worked on many games, isn't working with SMS anymore. Well, in fact, he will be working only on Iracing (for now):
“We have actually persuaded Aussie Greg Hill to ditch all of his other contract jobs and to focus solely on iRacing.”
Source: http://www.iracing.com/the-seasons-end-and-half-life-3-confirmed/

Might or might not explain why there might be some recycled (and modified) samples.
Thanks for the info, used it to bump the Falcon sound thread again over at the official forum if you don't mind ;)

Just noticed something. Between BMW and Ford there are 21 cars. (For the amount of dlc that I DO have). Wow cool, a lot of cars from two really great manufacturers. But wait, there's a catch. Of those 22 cars, only 4 can be raced in a career.

Man I really need to move over to the great whining and crying thread.

Edit: add 1 more from Mercedes (7 total) and 1 more from ruf (6 total)
So of 34 cars in pcars, 28 are effectively useless. (From a certain perspective)

That is really strange.
I was out this afternoon, no sigh of it when I left at 14:00.
Downloaded it around 18:00
I JUST LOVE THIS TRACK AND CARS !
You know that there are always 3 possibilities to found out if or when there are new DLC for Project Cars coming out on PS4 do you ?

The BMW 2002 Stanceworks is absolute crap. It doesn't handle at all. The X-Bow however is absolutely brilliant and really easy to drive. Talk about a diverse range of cars...

I would have to disagree with that. I was easily able to keep it on the track at Cadwell. If anything it lacks is power.

don't judge a car if you cant drive it. Sure its a handful but its great fun to drive. Just remember not every car in this game has massive wings and front splitters.

Bannochbrae is really good, I think it might be favourite fake race track in the game, parts make me think 'isle of man' - it's so fast and narrow and a massive crash can be just around the corner.

I applaud them for adding it!

I have to say I didn't really care too much for any of the cars, but I'm happy to continue to buy all the dlc and support this game.

I am really enjoying Bannochbrae with it's variety of fast corners with dodgy camber and the bumpy roads. The hardly there chicane in the town is a fabulous section.

The cars overall are very nice. I didn't expect much of the 2002 Turbo but it turned out to be fun if tough to adjust to after driving pretty much only LMP cars for so long. The 1M feels like a little touring car and the X-Bow is a blast. The MX-5 is insane and equally enjoyable and frustrating albeit only for a short period. The Falcon V8SC is brilliant once you don't slide at all as it is gone after that.

A surprisingly fun pack overall.

The new track I ok, would have rather SMS wasted their time more constructively on say... Solitude Renstrekke, or Nurburgring N24, Macau,

But that Falcon though.... WOW!

I hope it comes out as a patch for the consoles if it hasn't already.

My guess is it will be released as part of patch 9 next month.

The file posted is just an mp3 file with samples from cockpit, chase and trackside.
You can download it and have a listen.

Sounds better, but still need more work. Upshifts sound pretty bad, and the engine at high revs doesn't go high enough in pitch, sounds like it's constantly short shifting. Downshifts sound much better, trans whine is louder, and the tinny high end sound is improved.

Funny now all the fanboys over there are claiming the new sound is perfect, even though they were all claiming there was nothing wrong with the original sound lol.

Like anything in the game, they defend it as though it's perfect until the devs own up to it being rubbish, and then the smallest improvement and they're all back at it claiming it's perfect again. Jesus that's not how you do constructive feedback, constantly sucking up to the devs like that.

Edit: It's good that they're working on it though. It is probably the least accurate sound in game, on one of the most anticipated cars.

Really enjoying driving Bannoch Brae, nice and picture-esque,reminds me of the Loch track on TOCA 2. It is challenging aswell with the uneven roads, that bit where you catch some 'air' near the end is scary!

Here is a vid of me doing a hot lap in a LMP1 - the wobble in the town section probably cost me a sub-2 min time hehe. Was very close to the building on that town chicane!

My crew took a swing at the new stuff last night.

Aussie V8 - wonderful.
Miata - Just silly.
1M - Not too bad.
X-Bow - quite good.
2002 - Absolute crap. Not a single one of us could keep it from swapping ends...at speeds as low as 54 mph taking simple turns. This car feels absolutely broken. Can't think of another car that does this. I won't be driving this car again, as it's undriveable at this point. There were two of us with wheels and two with controllers. This was on Bannochbrae so I'll try it once more on an actual race-track...

Bannochbrae is excellent, and unique. We call got a Isle of Mann vibe from it. Narrow, bumpy, technical and we found it matched absolutely wonderfully with GT4.
