My crew took a swing at the new stuff last night.

Aussie V8 - wonderful.
Miata - Just silly.
1M - Not too bad.
X-Bow - quite good.
2002 - Absolute crap. Not a single one of us could keep it from swapping ends...at speeds as low as 54 mph taking simple turns. This car feels absolutely broken. Can't think of another car that does this. I won't be driving this car again, as it's undriveable at this point. There were two of us with wheels and two with controllers. This was on Bannochbrae so I'll try it once more on an actual race-track...

Bannochbrae is excellent, and unique. We call got a Isle of Mann vibe from it. Narrow, bumpy, technical and we found it matched absolutely wonderfully with GT4.

What? The 2002 is awesome! You must be driving a different car than I was. 8 guys driving it last night, 7 on wheels,no complaints.
 
I find the 2002 SW challenging too. It is manageable but even at 50km/h I feel I am about to leave the road backwards. For the most part I enjoy the challenge but it's tough going.

Strange because most folk (myself included) have difficulties taking even one corner with that car on default setup. You sure it was the stanceworks version no? :D

Sounds better, but still need more work. Upshifts sound pretty bad, and the engine at high revs doesn't go high enough in pitch, sounds like it's constantly short shifting. Downshifts sound much better, trans whine is louder, and the tinny high end sound is improved.

Funny now all the fanboys over there are claiming the new sound is perfect, even though they were all claiming there was nothing wrong with the original sound lol.

Like anything in the game, they defend it as though it's perfect until the devs own up to it being rubbish, and then the smallest improvement and they're all back at it claiming it's perfect again. Jesus that's not how you do constructive feedback, constantly sucking up to the devs like that.

Edit: It's good that they're working on it though. It is probably the least accurate sound in game, on one of the most anticipated cars.

The 1M is not bad at all round Bannochbrae. And that course is well done.
The X-Bow is a nice surprise. Really happy with it. I'll not be driving the Falcon until SMS fixes the sound and gets permission to add the rest of the Australian super car field.

Overall the handling feel of update 8 is good. I hope SMS doesn't abandon the game.
It seems they are still interested in supporting the tire and handling dynamics.

Perhaps tending to this game will help them enhance the next game. That could turn into a win/win for us and for SMS.

The Falcon reminded me to give up trying to drive on DS4 without stability control on in this game. :banghead:

I think the Falcon is one of the most easy to drive race cars in the game. I think it's easier to drive than GT3 cars. There's so ridiculously much rear traction even with this much power that it never really feels like it would bite you, even with the hard compound tires. I can be very aggressive with the throttle and the rear just hooks up. I was lapping Spa with this thing and I didn't want to stop. I only stopped when I wore the front tires down to nothing.

Lol! I can drive it fine on DS4 without assists. As long as the steering ratio is as high as possible, and the steering sensitivity is somewhat low.

There was two threads full of apologists over there trying to argue that the sound wasn't bad, even saying that it was only different to the youtube videos of the real thing. Now straight away when the new sound was posted, there were people saying it doesn't need to be changed anymore, implying they think it's perfect.

I agree that the default setup sucks. The default damper settings especially don't make sense. But I tuned the suspension to my liking and the car is quite decent. Everything in this car seems to want to happen in slow motion. Steering inputs have to be abnormally slow, or else the back end would slide, but slides in this car are also abnormally easy to catch. Try playing around with the suspension. This car has the potential to be pretty fun.

Edit: I just looked over at the official forum, and a guy there used some kind of calculator and determined that the default damper settings are not optimal. So I guess we independently arrived at the conclusion that the biggest problem with the default settings are the dampers. You need to mess with the damper settings on this car to make it work.

Does it even have TCS? In any case I'm pretty sure everything was off. A couple of people on the official forum said the same thing as i did regarding the abundant traction.

Edit: There are no aids available for this car, I just checked.

I agree, I would have vastly preferred a club-spec Miata (not necessarily the road car, but the race-prepped version). The Radbul was obviously a sponsorship deal or something - and a freely offered license. It is a horribly useless car in the game. While good for a few chuckles for about 10 minutes, the novelty wears off very fast.

I didn't look to see if it has a restrictor and could be halted back to be some kind of competitive race car, I doubt it.

You can turn down the boost and it becomes driveable.

The v8 supercar is really fun to drive once the tires start to wear. I know that sounds odd but it is.

The fronts wear a lot faster than the rears though. You end up just getting heavy understeer.

For me on the softs the fronts wear more than twice as fast. I don't think driving style and setup will make up that big of a difference. I didn't even change the setup that much. Default setup is already pretty good.
 
I really like the radbull:sick: It's fun to have a drift car in a simulation game like Pcars. I agree the modelling could have been done on another car, but for me, I just hope they add more drift cars (maybe a bit less powerfull:lol:)

Well there is weight bias which will effect the tyres alot. Also camber, pressure and conditions would effect the tyres differently.

You got the new m1 Stanceworks and the scion FR-S Rocket Bunny that can fit the new "tyres" from the RADBUL and get drifted

I know, they already said they were trying to get the license for Pcars2. Yes "TRYING" but they wont be there for Pcars1. At least they are going to attempt to make the sound better like they should.
