Project CARS – Xbox One Patch 1.3 - Fixed Issues

Gamepad Controllers:
Added ABS brake rumble to Xbox One triggers, so that the triggers will rumble on losing traction when braking. The amount of trigger rumble is controlled together with Force Feedback strength via the Force Feedback slider.
Improved the efficiency of the controller rumble effect, to help make the steering more responsive on the Xbox One.
Fixed an issue where moving the sticks from one extreme to the other would sometimes result in the steering getting stuck.
Reworked the Xbox One analogue sticks range and axis dead zones, providing much improved steering control.
Wheel Controllers:
Fanatec wheels – Fixed the issue with steering jolts that some users experience.
Online:
Fixed an occasional crash when advancing from Qualifying to Race.
Fixed an occasional crash when returning from a race to the Race Central.
Time Trial:
Set Time Trials starting time to 11am to match the PC platform. This ensures consistent track temperatures across all platforms, as track temperatures affect lap times.
Ghosts:
Enabled saving of community event ghosts. These ghosts are automatically stored online, and you can then download ghosts of other players’ laps for these events.
Tracks:
Sakitto and Summerton variations - Corrected track info regarding number of turns and track length.
Sakitto Sprint - Fixed a crash that would at times occur when using time acceleration.
Cadwell variations - Fixed draw distance issues on various objects.
Oschersleben variations - Fixed odd lights around track and colour issues with the horizon.
Zolder - Fixed an issue where the player car would sometimes start in a closed garage.
AI:
Fixed an issue where AI vehicles were sometimes sent to the pits due to low fuel on races where refueling is not allowed.
Pitstops:
Pitstop strategy will now use the actual bar value for tyre pressures.
Fixed an issue where the Pit engineer would repeatedly inform the player that a pit crew member has lost a wheel nut during pit stops.
Fixed an issue where the Pit Engineer would call the player to stop for fuel when fuel consumption was disabled in options.
Replays:
Improved the smoothness of the sun, moon, stars, and shadow motion when rewinding replays of a race that had a high time acceleration.
Driver Network Profile:
Fixed an issue where at times the miles driven on a particular track or with a particular car would be logged under the wrong car or track. This improves the accuracy of the player’s Affinity ratings.

Exactly why I probably will no longer buy games at launch. Heard about all the launch problems and glad I waited. If you wait about a week a patch is usually released to fix some of the bugs. Nice to see the patch is out.

I think the only major problem I've encountered so far was that opposite lock bug, but really I think it only happened about once or twice since I've started playing. I didnt even notice the triggers not working until just the other day  Focusing to much on actually trying to drive. Glad they fixed those two, as well as improving control with the analog sticks.

Yeeeee Hah!
It has been an absolute exercise in frustration to play this game on my XBone.
The worst part being you know there is potential for a great racing experience, but you just can't ever tune it in.
Now lets hope 1.3 fixes the problems without creating any new ones.

Looking forward to hearing the feedback from this patch. Been wanting to at least rent this game but want to wait until most of the bugs are worked out to avoid the launch problems that games have now.

According to feedback on the official forum the update is really good for pad players and it seems to help a bit with the framerate and a lot with audio issues. Good stuff indeed!
That is good to hear. Might consider renting this maybe by next weekend after the 2nd patch.

Haven't had a chance to update the game yet but the wave of goodwill flowing towards the long suffering devs post patch on the SMS forums is very heartening as is the fact the patch was delivered on the 28th May just like they said it would be.

Downloaded the patch last night and tested it long enough to tell it is a marked improvement over the original steering.
Looking forward to a more extensive workout.

Almost forgot
Salute to Ian Bell! 👍
Thanks for not running off and hiding or pretending the problem did not exist.
You faced the gauntlet and delivered in a very timely manner.

You have my gratitude and admiration! :)

It certainly works and the rumbly rumble triggers are fine. I'm still coming off the track but only on dry tires when it's raining as I should. Great job SMS.

Yeah, I've noticed a drastic change in steering and controlability while in the kart's especially. I'm also glad that they fixed the braking-headset audio glitch too, I can finally use my Turtle Beach headset.

Memory leak related frame rate drops are the next major problem this Xboner's encountering; looking forward to SMS tackling this with a future patch but happy to quit and restart the game until then.

I predict that Patch 1.4 will bring Legacy logitech Wheel Support to the PS4.

He may as well, he ignored the XBOne sign in the thread title anyway.

Just kidding :P
No- You're correct.. but as the PS4 has not yet received a Patch and there is Not a PS4 patch Thread.
(there's one, about When will the 1st patch be released, but it's closed )
This was the most on topic thread I could find.

Guess I could Have Started one...

Good luck and I hope you guys recive your first patch soon. :)

I figure we Boners are just about caught up with PS4 level now so maybe the next patch will address more universal problems.

The next patch will be all 3 plattforms across the board

Like like like. Let's all of us enjoy this game together.
Good morning Mikey :D

What are we getting in the next patch? I hope they sort the collisions between the big Merc and the poor little Escort. And AI behaviour in the wet and when off-track?

No changelog has been given yet because it contains items covered by NDA (e.g. content, possibly wheel support or other interesting stuff, we don't know, fuel the hype! :D).

Hello RacerPaul :)

Considering how long MS took to approve this patch I can only assume that different platforms will get it at different times with the PC leading the way as they don't have a "platform holder" manufacturer to delay things by testing it against their online multiplayer system like MS and Sony have to.

Until then cry havoc and let slip the dogs of speculation. Smithers, release the hounds.

I still get a weird audio sound in my headsets....about once every 30 minitues or so it sounds like a robot...Is this what you are talking about??..If so how do I get rid of it....or is a patch for that coming down the line?

No that is something else entirely, and I even got that before this patch. What you're talking about happens to me as well, mostly around turns when the tires are screeching. What I was talking about was a post patch problem, that when you'd hard brake all sound in the headset would cut out completely. I'm going to guess it was due to the lack of the brake trigger rumble, as when it was supposed to initiate, it would just cut sound.
