Okay, so now the spoiler is gone. WHAT IN THE ABSOLUTE WHAT AND HOW DID THEY GET THE LICENCE FOR V8 SUPERCARS WITHOUT ADDING ALL THE SUPERCARS CIRCUITS?!!

Only reason why I'm saying this is what Ian Bell said as to why they didn't get the full Supercars licence. He said Supercars were asking too much money for the licence and they required all circuits to be added to the game.

I need some information on this new agreement.

Final GTE car confirmed: 2014 Dodge SRT Viper GTS-R

The Standard & Year 1 Bundle editions both come with the bonus GTE Decade Pack. This features seven icons from the fiercely competitive GTE era.
• 2020 Aston Martin Vantage GTE
• 2020 BMW M8 GTE
• 2017 Chevrolet Corvette C7.R
• 2020 Chevrolet Corvette C8.R
• 2014 Dodge SRT Viper GTS-R
• 2020 Ford GT LM GTE
• 2020 Porsche 911 RSR (GTE)

Probably just like in the PC games, the Grid games, AMS2 - unofficial, generic liveries on Supercar-ish chassis.

Forgive my ignorance but how do mods work on console? Does one individual simply build said virtual car and then charge so much on PS/Xbox store?

I'm a little conflicted on this car list, I think the GTE list confirms that Ferrari haven't made the cut which is a big shame but the rest of the list looks like a good selection. I do hope we get a good selection of real liveries for the cars, it was something the old PCARS games did really well but we haven't seen a lot in the trailers so far, that will be more of a problem for those of us on console where the mods have to be licensed.

I'm probably going to leave it till the last minute to decide whether to pre-order or not, I'm still hyped for the game but there are those questions marks.

Liveries look like a mixed bag, in the footage we've seen so far, some cars have 2 or 3, whilst others seem to have at least 6.

I'm hoping one way around the licensing for modded console liveries will be using generic or similar-but-not-quite sponsors, a lot of the in-game liveries are already doing that, they look like the real thing but have fictional sponsors.

Corvette C5.r is a good example, convincing from a distance but not the original sponsors.

That Corvette does look pretty good, if done properly a censored livery like that isn't much worse than the real deal. If they're not right it can totally ruin the look of the car, how good or bad the GT500 and V8 DLC's are depends a lot on that in my opinion.

It’s not weird, but probably due to the $tudio. Codemasters had it, T10 had it. Now iRacing have it. PC2 got the one car back in 2017. Maybe something changed around when GRID came out as they got more than the Falcon.

If we’re getting 2013 Car of The Future models that’ll be

If they’ve got the licence for all of those, good stuff!

So from what I seen This game is shaping up to be a Corvette fans dream you have.

Corvette C5.R
Corvette C6.R
Corvette C7.R
Corvette C8.R
Corvette C8.R GT3 Version.

As a fan of corvette racing this is amazing.
I don't if know if I should drive the C6.R first or the M3 GTR...

Have to say, the car list is looking good, but does anyone know why the Marcos LM600 is in the N-GT class? It raced in GT1 in-period, and it was based on a late 90s GT2 car, which formed the basis of the 2000+ GT1 rule set (like the Viper, Storm, C5-R and the 993 GT2). Pretty sure some Mantis versions did race in the various N-GT/G2/G3/GTC classes, but wasn't aware the LM600 did?

As for the last few cars to come, I've been wracking my brain trying to work out what might be coming now that Mclaren/Ferrari look to be missing? Maybe We'll get surprised by Maserati, as we could get the MC12 (GT1), 4200 GT (N-GT) and the Gran Turismo MC in GT4. They all fall under the stellantis umbrella at least?

The Marcos question has been asked elsewhere. This is the answer from the game designer:

“The Marcos, like the Lister, could plausibly exist in a few different classes.

Our GT class is intended to replicate what was being raced internationally during the 2004/2005/2006 seasons. For that reason, the Marcos ends up not really qualifying for that category, and the most logical slot was to de-tune it for N-GT competition so the Mosler had a direct rival.

The Lister Storm is another example of a car that could be in multiple classes; Lister ran it with a slightly different nose/tail in 1998 for FIA GT1 events. We have it in the GT class.”

Honestly the late 90s GT classes were a crapshoot at the best of times.

You had a short tail F1 GTR run by Parabolica in GT1 in 1998, despite pretty much being a GT2 car at that point in performance.

The Lister example he gave is kind of weird to me because the version he referenced is the GTL, which was specifically made to try and bump the Storm up to the prototype level that the other GT1 cars were at, but the regular Storm was a GT2-early 2000s GT1 car. So it wasn’t really the same car honestly.

Then the Mosler I think originally raced in the equivalent GT1 class at Daytona in the early 2000s, so it being in N-GT is a little weird because the de-tuned version was the MT900 GT3 which came in ‘06 and was definitely not an N-GT car.

Then the Marcos, the Mantara LM600 was also a late 90’s GT2-early 2000’s GT1-spec car. The Mantis racing cars or “GT3” would have been a much better fit for the game’s N-GT class than the LM600.

Honestly some of the stuff in the game, they just made it up. But in reality often cars weren’t really put into classes that made sense either. That F1 GTR really should have been a GT2 entry to give it a chance.

The correct answer to all of this confusion is to blame Porsche.

Mercedes also share some of the blame imo, but yeah Porsche started it
How they did a back to back championship with a car they barely tested is still absolutely nuts to me.

Also for the Mosler, completely forgot to mention but another strike against it being in the N-GT class in the game is that the full name for N-GT is actually the FIA Series-Production Grand Tourers… and the Mosler had its homologation rejected by the FIA because it wasn’t a production car lol.
