I assume they have Group C, STW/BTCC for the supertouring era combined with maybe modern TCR or the old WTCC format. I think we'll be in for a hell of a ride.

Concerning the tracks, they say it'll launch with 27 scanned tracks but it could well be that a few old/classic layouts are included. I am really happy to that this launches as a full title 👍
 
I'm not sure if we have any Farming Sim players here, but if we do and they are heading to FarmCon next month PMR will be playable there.

I really hope all cars, in any view will sound really great, including in roadside replay cams.
Because playing pc2 now, reminds me of how great some cars sound, but how weak many sound too, which takes you out of much of the feel, thrill, immersion, believability.
Even sounds like skidding, chassis, going over heavy curbs, etc. Weighty feel and sound.
Including hearing other cars approaching like in ac, acc, with impressive sound.

Pc2 is really so nice when at least the sound of cars is great, like with aston martins, mclarens, jaguars.
But so many ferraris, etc sound so weak.
Game is still a marvel of a sim on console, apart from acc, there isn't much else on console with full sim features.

I like the full setups you can tinker with too, engine braking, etc.
Ffb could be more hardware friendly, i mean easily balanced, with full weighty feel, without losing detail, even on cheaper wheels.

In pc2 it's a compromise often. Although i have it set pretty damn good, and feel the road well.

Anyhow, just hoping a lot from pmr, there's not much choices on consoles, that and ace to look forward to for now.

Edit: the ferrari 512 bb lm is brilliant fun on long Beach. Pretty good sound that one.

PC2 can still hold its own in some areas. Not many can do the same with just the game content and no mods. Trust me though, way better on computer. I would recommend those that can move away from console to do so as soon as you reasonably can. In fact I would prefer that news sims did not port over to console if that has any major impact on how they structure or what they can include in the game.
I know that I will never purchase another console.

Something else that pisses me off about this game so far is Ian Bell has the balls to put the entire GTE class behind a preorder paywall. That's insanity imo. No proper gameplay footage yet and he's already holding an important car class hostage unless you buy the game right now. More people should be talking about this and how terrible it is.

I'd like to at least know what's in that class before I decide to spend the money now or later.

It's interesting there's no mention of that on Steam either. The platform's usually pretty good about needing descriptions up front in my experience.

Bell always seems to end up with a regrettable amount of creative control/freedom wherever he seems to end up after each project, so I wouldn’t be surprised if it was partly his decision to parcel it out like that.
 
I'm not to concerned about it right now. We have to see how things play out
 
As much as i appreciate pc2 being a full featured sim style game on console,
I hope it will be less simcade in it's physics, driving model.
It's weak in the inertia, weight transfer, definition of grip limit and slide, floaty.

When you jump on ac,acc it's very obvious in comparison. Pc2 is very easy at limit, it's a pleasant sim style game, fun and deep in sim like features of course.

But pmr seems to be more hardcore driving physics from preview impressions, so im glad for that.
Just hope it's top quality sim physics, not a mixed bag.
Some concerns from the few impressions about it, and the dev in charge of physics seemed to say it's all great as it is, idk.. fingers crossed.

Glad to see they are bringing the R8 to the game. My fondest memory of that car was watching them take the entire rear off during a pitstop at the 2000 LeMans. Great car. Can't wait to use in this game
 
Isn't the Panoz Roadster already in the same class? checked, yes it is :D and about those screenies posted, new track?

It is from what I can see. Lime Rock has a unique "dual" entrance/exit bridge you can see in the first screen shot, and then 1 of the banners on the side was for Airstream in recent years.

Could not agree with you more. I don't like negativity but he is most certainly one of the most unlikable creators on YouTube.

Because I watch so many videos on YouTube about racing games, I initially got many of his videos from the algorithm. I hit the "Don't Recommend this channel" enough times that I was BLESSED to no longer even SEE thumbnails of his content

Don't most racing games do this? Heck, don't most games in general, do this?

This is why, when it comes to racing games, I always get the most expensive version to get the most content.

Both PC1 and PC2 were LOADED with content, worth every penny. We have no reason to believe this will be different.

And, please people, stop referring to PC3 as reason to believe this game won't be great.

That game never happened 🤔 I've never heard of it 🤷‍♂️

Of course, my friend, @IfAndOr might say differently😉
 
Bell could simply fix everything wrong with PC2 (no small feat, mind you!) throw in a few new tracks and cars and it would already be the best all round sim on the market. Distance and perspective have already left many feeling the warm fuzzies about the overall PC2 game, as narrowly focused hardcore sims fail to satisfy anyone but hardcore GT3 and modern hypercar fans.

PC2’s strength was its range. Historical to modern, rallycross to endurance, weather, full year round environments, probably the best selection of tracks and cars without modding ever put together. It ran well on low power PC’s and consoles (by the standards of the day) and its 3D is still close to industry leading…

Unfortunately, Ian Bell is Ian Bell. The leopard cannot change its spots. He will leave it half finished for the first distraction (and money grab) that comes along and it will be one more unfulfilled promise…
 
I will agree PC2 just needed to be graphically similar to Gran Turismo or Assetto Corsa to be great. Still an all time classic in my eyes. For a next gen game, I’d add the custom race feature of selecting individual cars and VR2 to make it an ultimate experience on console.

Tapping into the nineties era GT series with today’s gaming technology is going to be good. If Ian Bell can pull off the same experience as PC2 it’ll be a win. Even if it’s missing a few bits.
 
I wonder if the devs/publishers of this new game will support it for any reasonable length of time or abandon it after about 15 months as we saw with Project Cars 2?

This already exists, it's AMS2, and it might one day get a console release.
 
If it can bring elements of PC2 and have a good livery editor, and custom championships I will be happy

Same here, my laptop is no good for modern racing games but I can still play ams1 with custom settings at a stable 60fps so I still got my ams fix, still a good game & I got tons of track mods for it as well.

Yeah, I gotta try AMS1 again. I tried once or twice but somehow it didn't recognize my incredibly modern G29 :)
