I think in the age of online racing the single player career mode in racing games has got the
i can dig it classic film GIF by Turner Classic Movies

They have not gotten the love they need in most games (glares at GT7 :irked:)

Even if it's just GT though, I would like to see some more "entry" level classes, like Ginetta Juniors or GR86 Cup or something. I know there was a picture of an MX5 Cup shown as well, and they are fantastic but would be nice for a little more variety in the lower classes. Hopefully then the people who actually need to learn from them might stick around them longer, instead of just jumping straight into GT3s and wadding them up on the first lap... ahh who am I kidding.

I really want to jump on the bandwagon, and I fully understand that high powered car are more interesting (or less boring if you like), but in order to have a bigger depth of field in terms of users, I hope they will provide cars also in the lower power tiers.

Yes, going faster is more adrenalinic, but IF this is a simulation, slower cars are key to build experience and learn, unless you are a natually gifted driver, or are already at that skill level coming from other simulators.

PMR, if you want to be a big thing, you are to drain in people, no matter the age and skills

I agree with you. I like driving the fast cars but sometimes it is good to get in a slower car and just enjoy the ride. I know in PC2 I have used the Ginetta G5 probably more than other cars. They allow me to really get a good feel for the tracks in the game. So hopefully they will have some cars like that available in PMR

Agreed, but that's where they also need to be careful because it was a bit naff on a controller.

Half true, more fun with the wheel but doable with a pad, admittedly tricky & more prone to losing control but the good thing was there were plenty of cars to choose from whether you got your rig out for some serious sideways classic action or just lazing on the sofa with a pad with some of the more stable cars within the collection.

It really was the ultimate motorsports sandbox.

Yeah, for some though, the pad is the only choice. It did get to a point with both pcars games where it just wasn't fun with a pad.

ACC did better but still needed a lot of tweaking to get there.
 
There’s something about this game that looks fantastic, but something too that’s holding me back from really getting too excited about it. I think it’s the GT only thing tbh, plus the fact that a lot of the best content is DLC scheduled for like a year’s time. I’ll probably just pick it up then, at the moment that’s my thinking. Genuinely want this to succeed, though. We need developers doing things like this.

When it comes to PC 2, I'm like those "Just remaster FM4" people. I'll buy this if I hear the framerate is solid on base consoles.

I only ever owned PC2 on the 1X & now the SX so frame rate was never an issue for me, PMR is only being released on the new hardware AFAIA so hopefully it shouldn't have a problem either, but you never know.

I've already said I'm waiting for a deluxe version regardless of how good it is out of the box.
 
Anyone know what game pad will feel like on a PS5 or Xbox series X, very interested in this title and not sure to pre order deluxe edition or not. It’s looking good as a console racer. Thank you any info would be great.

I've only seen one thing with any mention of the controller feel, I think it was a Traxion YouTube video? Guy did a lap of Spa in the Lambo LMDh, but there wasn't much feedback if I recall correctly, he was basically like "yeah look I can drive around the track, I haven't crashed." Not much to go on.

Not sure you need to bring earplugs for an MX5 Cup. Maybe some more Japanese cars to be announced and/or the Asian circuit?

MX5 Cup, 787B and Okayama get by guesses.

More details on Project Motor Racing’s online multiplayer mode have been revealed, with Straight4 Studios stating that the game's online modes won’t require additional subscription or server fees.

"PMR’s online racing career will revolve around scheduled races, championships and shorter, casual events.

To participate in PMR’s online racing career mode, all players must complete a license test at Lime Rock Park, driving eight clean laps within a predetermined time. This will set your initial multiplayer skill rating.

PMR’s driver ratings dispense with traditional Elo for a figure between one and one hundred, with ratings split between vehicle categories (much like iRacing’s system). Race and championship grids will then be divided up by driver rating to guarantee close and fair racing."

Agreed, fantastic system, love the idea and if it works effectively, should make online racing top notch.

Also gives a lot more weight to each class and their purpose in the game. Brilliant.

I assume modded content will be usable in custom lobbies/servers.

I swear the team been reading my posts. That’s all I want. To pick a discipline like GT4 and just be a gentleman racer. Being ranked according to discipline is brilliant.

It's great. I suck at hypercars or Group C, I'm much better with the slower machinery, so nice that I can concentrate fully on those for ranked and just dip into casual racing with the others.
 
How many cars in a race, and what are the options like for private lobbies?

I assume every race is crossplay too?

Overview sounds solid, basically a more refined version of what I’ve seen in Forza Motorsport that covers the pitfalls of that game’s system.
